Re: POLL: Predict BOB for S3 [Book spoilers permitted]
I always reckoned Lynch had archival footage and alternate takes of Silva that he could incorporate into the new show; just as he did in the season 2 opener with the shot of BOB running down the hospital corridor -- that was filmed for the pilot, I believe, or early season 1, and he simply reutilisi...

Re: SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime SPOILERS Thread
Did anyone see what Michael J Anderson wrote on his Facebook account? Not sure if it's old but it popped up on my feed ten minutes ago:

Re: Using unseen material from the old series
Seeing old footage of Silva would really be like seeing a ghost. I hope Lynch dives into some old reels for footage he never used (I believe the shot of BOB racing towards the camera in the season 2 pilot was originally shot for season 1 or the pilot?)

Re: OT: The X-Files revival
I'm also a little bewildered by all of the time spent with M&S being maudlin about William, their son, who most casual viewers probably don't even really remember or care about, and whom even the writers shuttled off the show so that they wouldn't have to worry about continuing to write Mulder ...

Re: OT: The X-Files revival
I love The X Files. Recently, I compiled all of the best mythology and standalone episodes (about 85 eps spread from season 1-8) and watched them all and it was fantastic. Some truly great stuff in there, especially when you can avoid the dross. The plot was surprisingly not-so-complicated that way,...

Re: The X-Files
I'm also heavily into the X-Files and it's a delight seeing the many cast members both shows share: http://i.imgur.com/WJDq2uC.png Off the top of my head, Don Davis played Scully's father in season 1's 'Beyond the Sea' (brilliant episode featuring Brad Dourif), Michael J. Anderson appears in Darin M...

Re: Fanedits?
Thanks, I'm thinking about trying this version. I've never actually watched Dune, having been put off by the critical reception as well as that of Lynch himself.Jasonoverlook wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MK5eoV93oyg

I'd recommend this!

Re: FWWM and TP: Disparities and Explanations?
I thnk that's more to do with the circularity of time; "It is happening again" and will always be destined to happen again and again. There's a lot in TP to be made of cycles and circular objects. I think the Lodge exists independently of time, but doesn't affect timelines, the past or pr...

Re: FWWM and TP: Disparities and Explanations?
I've always felt kind of like that, too. Like, the timeline gets disrupted as soon as Coop enters the Lodge in the finale. Things are kind of off with Twin Peaks after that. Bobby and Shelly repeating the joke from the Pilot, Major Briggs being happy and fine, etc. This extends to FWWM. Time has be...

Re: FWWM and TP: Disparities and Explanations?
In terms of other disparities between FWWM and the series, have you noticed that the photos of Laura in her home and the school are swapped over from the ones in the show? I did notice! But not at first. What was the explanation there, again? Were they not allowed to use the original? Thanks, OP, f...

Re: Where (and when and who) were you when you found TP?
Back in 2003 the UK's Channel 4 showed a special called "100 Scariest Moments" which covered film and TV. Twin Peaks came in at no. 21, and the clips they discussed was Cooper thrusting his head into the mirror, revealing Bob. Well, I decided I wanted to watch it, but back then there were ...

FWWM and TP: Disparities and Explanations?
There are differences between the film and TV show that are, for some, quite egregious and distracting, and there are others that are less noticeable but remain interesting nonetheless. Some differences between the two are ones that we would naturally chalk up to the passage of time, i.e., haircuts,...

Re: Valoquen
But, the Shelly and Leo scene is in the 1992 cut of the film. There is an alternate take of that scene in the deleted scenes - I don't know how this fan edit integrated that? You're right, the Leo and Shelley scene comes after Laura's painting/dream sojourn in the theatrical cut. I merely forgot ab...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces - analysis/thoughts etc
I recently watched a fan-edit of FWWM with the Missing Pieces restored (clocking in at around three and a half hours). For me, it was even better than the release version, which I thought was pretty damn masterful already. The only material I didn't appreciate was Shelley and Leo at home and Andy an...
