Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
You people are thinking more about this show than Lynch himself in all his life. The person who cares less about how all of this makes sense or ties together is the man himself. The game is over.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I think it all comes down to this: David Lynch needed money. The man hadn't scored a major one since Mulholland Dr. (17 years ago). Inland Empire was a small indie project, awfully shot and poorly distributed. I don't know how many paintings he sells, but I wouldn't hang his ugly art in my house eve...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Showtime executives didn't exactly know what they were agreeing to produce for this season. That's fine. Good or bad (and I honestly can't decide which this show was), the level of creative freedom he enjoyed within the realm of TV (not known for 100% crea...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
honest question for all the people who are profoundly dissapointed: what were your thoughts on Inland Empire when it came out? Much like TP:TR. Some interesting scenes ("BRUTAL FUCKING MURDER!") making a good set of vignettes, but the film as a whole being slightly pointless and boring sp...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I don't think Lynch hates TP. Well, he created Cooper. He created Laura. He created Sarah. He created Audrey. He created Chet Desmond. He didn't create Annie but he filmed her most important scenes (nobody forced him to do so). Then he locked them in a very dark place for the second time . I didn't...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
There comes a point when "leaving it up to interpretation" simply does become lazy writing. Especially when you have so many plot threads and characters just tossed to the wayside. There's nothing clever about what we got here. He had no intention of clearing up any of the sub plots, and ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Hi, I just registered to talk about the many plot arcs, cliffhangers and characters that got no resolution or ultimately just meant nothing or just were plain underwhelming. Please add your own ideas. (Disclaimer: I was commenting this show on Reddit until now, but I had to abandon that community. I...
