It's been confirmed for a while now. I can't remember when, but it's definitely happening, for sure.Jerry Horne wrote:Two-part finale? Has this been confirmed?

Re: Season 3 Timeline (SPOILERS)
That's really great. I find myself wondering why they started messing with the chronology in editing at this point in the "film." It's a very interesting question. First, the scenes in the order presented play off of each other extremely well, so it could simply have been a matter of deci...

... am I the only one who thought the cover of Elvis' Viva Las Vegas was terrible and didn't fit at all in the show ? I Don't think I've seen any post about it, but I think that was the only flaw of that episode I'm of the mind that you can't really put that song in anything and not recognize the s...

I really loved the episode, and I found the ending to be surprisingnly emotional I don't post much, but I spend some time on this forum every day during the week reading your theories and observations to wait for each new episode, but... am I the only one who thought the cover of Elvis' Viva Las Ve...

Re: Part 11 - There's fire where you are going (SPOILERS)
I think you're criticism comes from literally the opposite place to mine. I want the return to be MORE Lynchian in the sense that I know it - his work since FWWM onwards have been deep character studies exploring subjects who have suffered deep trauma and their subjective experience of reality ther...

Re: Part 11 - There's fire where you are going (SPOILERS)
As for if Dougie wakes up now, there's a lot he could do. He could start by hooking up with Albert and Cole and helping them track down Bad Coop and/or go back to Twin Peaks and hook up with Truman/Hawk and find the entry to the lodge. Maybe he'd have to save Audrey. Or the whole town of Twin Peaks...

Re: When do you think will "Dougie" snap back to being Cooper? (Spoilers)
From my Observations of the Series pattern, there are some slight parallels to main event in the original show Mr C getting shot in the exact same place our Coop got shot, the episode that featured Gersten Hayward albeit short appearance ended with a piano solo over the credits like Season 2 episod...

Re: Season 3 Timeline (SPOILERS)
Great work, as usual, Hockey Mask! Since Parts 9-11 presented events far less chronologically than any other section of TPTR (so far), I think it might be worthwhile to try and list the scenes in chronological order. Here is my attempt to create a roughly chronological timeline of Days 9-10 (my goa...

Re: Part 11 - There's fire where you are going (SPOILERS)
"Damn good pie" The first line Dougie-Coop has uttered unprompted. I liked the angry horn-honking lady. Bradley says, "Damn good pie" and Coop repeats "Damn good", so not really. Also "HI!!!" in part 4 was his first (only?) non-repeated dialogue. I had though...

Re: Gender in Twin Peaks: The Return
This is really excellently put, and I just want to highlight it again. Lynch has done great work with his portrayal of female characters and gendered existence, including the violence and predation facing women, in the past. Fire Walk With Me is one of the few Lynch movies to offer an ending that i...

Re: Part 10 - Laura is the one (SPOILERS)
My thoughts on the actual part itself: I was initially hesitant early on, as I did not enjoy Part 9 much at all, and some of the early expositional elements felt poorly plotted - characters saying things like 'you remember my arch enemies the Michum brothers?' and the talk about the insurance fraud...

Re: Part 10 - Laura is the one (SPOILERS)
I am not denying the fact that there is violence in Lynch's work. And that this is sometimes directed at women. But it is unbearable that so many viewers not only LIKE to see "empowered women" (etnic minorities, etc.), but also CRITICIZE the artist does not follow their preferences. Too m...

Re: Part 10 - Laura is the one (SPOILERS)
By the way, I am a major advocate of Lynch as a feminist filmmaker as evidenced by FWWM and Inland Empire and portions of his other work. And I like how you say "cosmic darkness" here. I am too! I brought up in an earlier post that I think Empire in particular is outstandingly feminist, a...

Re: Part 10 - Laura is the one (SPOILERS)
A lot of critics these days seem to agree that David Lynch's violence against women theme is dated and/ or problematic. I find it hard to believe this is news to anyone here: many of the reviews of The Return addressed this. Maybe people annoyed that others are bringing this up can relax a little. ...

Re: Part 10 - Laura is the one (SPOILERS)
This is very well said. I don't have anything to add to this -- but this line of thinking will be in my mind when watching upcoming episodes of Peaks. Thanks! If only I hadn't been so repetitive with my word choice at the end! And yeah; like you, this is just something on my mind moving forward; it...
