Re: The Owls Are Not What They Seem

... Why do greys sound like lodge denizens all of a sudden? Btw, I'm not really a believer in the 'extraterrestrial hypothesis', I tend to side more on the Jacques Vallée / John Keel side of things... Sure, strange things seem to be infringing & even conflicting with our scientific dogma, ...

Re: The Owls Are Not What They Seem

I'm fascinated by the lore as well; have been since a kid! :D For better or worse it informed my uni studies & applies to some of my current work (freelance writer, occasionally writing articles on paranormal phenomena, with an eye to psychological underpinnings). That's not to say that I think ...

Re: The Owls Are Not What They Seem

Eep, I just looked at the podcast url & saw 'UFO' & 'abductee' at the end... Did they discuss Communion?

Re: The Owls Are Not What They Seem

I haven't watched the podcast you linked, but I'd imagine the owls got included because they symbolically fit the bill in several ways at once. In saying that, I know the 'factual' novel 'Communion' was a big hit in the late 80s, & owls (& deer I think? It's been awhile...) are famously used...

Re: *SPOILER ALERT* LET'S TALK ABOUT THE MOVIE!

I just watched the film again. It's possibly my favourite film of his. When I first saw the film, I felt as though it really could have benefited from a more concise edit, though I have come to really appreciate how it was put together. With one exception! The sequence where Laura Dern's character ...

Re: "I mean it like it is... like it sounds."

It's also pretty clear that there is a piece of the table that was removed to make Mike's ring. Indeed. I first saw a pic of that (with the 'Missing Piece' circled in red?) on this forum about a year-ish ago... I was already vibe-ing on 'formica -> for MIKE', & that pic kinda sealed it place mo...

Re: "I mean it like it is... like it sounds."

Well as I said, I like associations, & this still fits the bill! :-) Wasn't even aware of him before tbh, though he certainly went on to be 'eager for fun' by becoming Disney chairman... Was he part of green-lighting the Peaks pilot? Correct, and Iger was the target for pleas to keep the series...

Re: "I mean it like it is... like it sounds."

Not necessarily what you're looking for, but I always wondered if "He is BOB, eager for fun..." wasn't a nod to Bob Iger at ABC. Well as I said, I like associations, & this still fits the bill! :-) Wasn't even aware of him before tbh, though he certainly went on to be 'eager for fun' ...

"I mean it like it is... like it sounds."

I had a quick search but couldn't see this topic being discussed in quite this way. Still; moderators, if you feel this is better served at the end of a 'convenience store' / 'MIKE' thread, please move it to its most appropriate spot. So, for awhile I've thought that one of the many possible reading...

Re: Interview with Pamela Gidley

- Lynch doesn't like "moving air" (like wind, fans, etc). Maybe this was already known? I've never heard it. I remember him saying somewhere that he didn't like wind against his upper chest / neck, which is why he wore his shirts buttoned high. I think it may have been in the Blue Velvet ...

“The Secret History of Twin Peaks” goes all the way back to the 18th century...
Yes, that is interesting...
Washington was settled by the Spanish in the 18th century, maybe early explorers wrote an account of a dark force in the woods?

Re: Animals

The birds sing a pretty song. Cooper doesn't like birds. Some masks in the film have bird-like beaks, and the sound of the Jumping Man (in The Missing Pieces) could be construed as a horrifying bird-like squawk. This is admittedly a bit (lot) of a stretch, but I've been reading about the practice o...

Re: Let's talk about MIKE

Forgive me if it's been mentioned, but I've always thought: Formica --> 'Formikea' --> 'For Mike' The garmonbozia at the formica table is ostensibly for Mike, & the ring (which appears to have been cut from the table) seems to be his seal for a parasitic covenant ("With this ring I thee wed...
