Re: Possible SPOILERS: S3 casting & returning actors/charact

It was just an anecdote, but the way he described it certainly made it sound as if she was saying as much as she could without violating any NDA. Either way, no, we can't confirm her.

Re: Possible SPOILERS: S3 casting & returning actors/charact

I welcome new people wholeheartedly. It's been 25 years, I want to see the town grow and live and change and have children, new kids, new stories. I love a mix of the vets and the new characters; I don't think it would be right or viable for it to just be the old cast. It would feel like a Love Boat...

Re: Worthiest Missing Piece?

I think the general public is generally unaware of that extended sequence - they're not gonna go look at it and be like, 'pshaw! He reused that material.' I also don't think those in the know would care or mind; they'd either see it as a final testament to the late Frank Silva, or a creative re-use ...

Re: Possible SPOILERS: S3 casting & returning actors/charact

I'm just going off an anecdote someone put in one of the threads about Piper sometime in the last month or two, where he met her and she seemed to strongly hint that she was back. You can search for it if you like. But again, this is not confirmation and IMO neither is Strobel. If he definitively sa...

Re: Possible SPOILERS: S3 casting & returning actors/charact

I took that recent anecdote (which I think was in the SPOILERS thread) about Piper to mean she is coming back. Beymer, I still think people saw his trailer. But again, neither are confirmed and if we can't confirm Piper than IMO we can't confirm Strobel on the same basis. But YMMV.

Re: Possible SPOILERS: S3 casting & returning actors/charact

I would love to call her confirmed but she evidently hasn't filmed yet, and I need triple confirmation on Sherilyn Fenn at this point. As for Al Strobel, it sounds like he may have verbally confirmed but there's also a number of other people who we don't list as confirmed because we haven't seen the...

Re: Worthiest Missing Piece?

I love the scene of Laura in the bushes, I adore it. I just worry that beat might break the flow of the film, which is really clicking along at that point. It's followed immediately in the script by Laura and James on the bike and Leland watching them, isn't it? It just seems like the same note twic...

Re: Worthiest Missing Piece?

If it was up to me, I'd put back in the Hayward house and the scene under the fan. And possibly Desmond's fight with Cable, which is incredibly well-shot and pays that little subplot off, and perhaps Coop's brief scene with Sam Stanley. Maybe I'd put the Norwegian dinner scene back in. I'm on the fe...

Re: Episode 23

Yeah, there's something perversely appropriate too - Josie's machinations were all about burning the mill and getting the payoff from all that ruined lumber. She herself ends up in the wood.

Re: Episode 23

I said my piece on Josie on the last page here , but suffice it to say I agree with a fair bit of that. Like the Evelyn Marsh plotline, Josie's story (on paper) is quintessential film noir and Lynchian, but the execution of both is flawed, and in the case of the Evelyn story basically unwatchable. B...

Re: Episode 17

I always chose to take Cooper's monologue to Sarah as being something meant to empower her, rather than a wholesale pardon of Leland - I thought the show was trying to give her character some sort of positive grace note, and that meant a lot to me the first few times I watched the show, I really lik...

Re: Cooper's lost soul

It beats sitting around waiting for someone to bike through Everett in search of a silhouetted tree that vaguely resembles Sheryl Lee. Which I will now resume doing.

Re: Suggestions for episode 17 - 28 recap

Oh, there's still things I can't really excuse. Evelyn Marsh and a lot of the Little Nicky story are definitely up there in the 'war crimes' department, though I didn't mind some of the early scenes with Joshua Harris, Goaz and Ian Buchanan. Some of the extended Super Nadine hijinks in, I think 17 a...

To say nothing of Donna. We don't know what would have went down there.
