Re: Twin Peaks Out of Order #12: Episode 7
'Who Shot Cooper?' clearly meant to be the next 'Who Killed Laura Palmer?' although it actually ends up being one of the least memorable events in the series - by the time Cooper gets out of the hospital bed next episode most viewers have likely forgotten how he got there. I wonder why this never b...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
Funny that Ivo deferred to Eno's clout but not Reznor's, ha. Thanks for sharing the interesting 4AD knowledge, Henrys Hair! By strange coincidence, Fraser would later have a relationship with Jeff Buckley, son of Song To The Siren writer Tim Buckley. By even stranger coincidence, This Mortal Coil &...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
It was Ivo who vetoed the inclusion on the Lost Highway soundtrack: "I didn't want people coming to it unsuitably squished between two other tracks, but rather on its own, or to take them to hear it on a This Mortal Coil album." He also vetoed its use (in both the film and soundtrack) of ...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
This Mortal Coil he couldn't license in BV, and turned out to be blessing, we got Julee Cruise instead. I didn't know that. So he couldn't get them for BV but later could for LH? I've read a few different accounts of who blocked the use of Song to the Siren in Blue Velvet - Lynch's producers wouldn...

Re: What storylines would you have liked to have seen?
I would like to have seen a few scenes between Ben and Sylvia Horne. Their marriage seemed under pressure but they were apparently still together through Ben's arrest and Civil War breakdown. Seeing how the rest of the Horne family reacted to Audrey's disappearance would've been good too. "Sylv...

Re: Episode 8 (Season 2 Premiere)
Maybe someone has read an interview with Carel Struycken and can share if there was a logistical reason for him not being in the feature, but regardless I think that it is for the best. As a viewer I think it works much better that he is introduced in the second season, as yet another being from th...

Re: Bad Karma
I had similar thoughts when the Manson allegations came out. To the above, I'd also add: Michael Massee fired the incorrectly-prepared prop gun on The Crow that killed Brandon Lee. Not his fault and a horrendous burden to have to live with. Twiggy Ramirez, who appears alongside Manson, was accused o...

Re: Episode 21
Still in the mid-season slump, although there are signs that the show might get back on track - both Thomas Eckhardt (the fire reflecting in his glasses is suitably ominous) and Windom Earle (wonderful introduction, although has Leo really spent a whole day wandering through the wood before finding ...

Re: Episode 20
After coming away from episode 19 thinking 'Laura Palmer died for *this*' I was pleasantly surprised to feel like things are getting back on track on this episode. It's not classic Peaks, but the good far outweighs the bad and the comedic scenes don't grate when used sparingly. A few thoughts and ob...

Re: Episode 19
Well, this seemed the least-essential episode so far. It's not without good bits - Ed & Norma, Dead Dog Farm, Cooper, Audrey & Denise and the Briggs family scene - but the balance is skewed to comedy that doesn't always work, wackiness and the Evelyn Marsh subplot with characters who don't h...

Re: Episode 18
Well, this felt like a big improvement on the previous episode - despite featuring arguably weaker lows (Little Nicky & Evelyn Marsh both make their first appearances here) the highs are higher and just, well, Peaksier. The opening shots of James on his bike were apparently filmed for the pilot....

Re: Episode 17
Easily the weakest episode on my rewatch so far, although it's not unenjoyable - it just lacks focus or any sense of what we're supposed to be invested in. The opening scene with Cooper and Sarah Palmer is actually really good, even if it reinforces the idea of Leland's innocence. Unfortunately what...

Re: Episode 16
I've seen this episode described as the last in the original series' imperial phase and also as the first episode in the season 2 slump. I can see both viewpoints while leaning towards the former myself. I remember it being a big hit with everyone I knew who watched the show at the time, although pe...
