Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

Part 15 is probably my favorite hour of the entire show. it really packs a punch and includes Everything I love about the World of Twin Peaks in very much the same was as Fire Walk With Me did. the Visual strength is constantly on the same level as in that film (which is also one of my top 10 films ...

Re: Part 17 - The past dictates the future (SPOILERS)

Cooper asks Diane if she remembers everything. Jeffries says, “Cooper, remember.” Remember WHAT? Do we see Cooper remember whatever it is in Part 18? i'm thinking Jeffries' command of Cooper to "Remember" might pertain to the same thing as The Fireman's "Remember 430... Richard and L...

Re: The visual aesthetic of the new Twin Peaks

the zoom version works better for me, letting Sarah's face/"non-face" dominate the screen more.

this is a pretty freaky screen grab from that scene:

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)

I see not evidence for Dougie dying after barfing up the Garmonbozia. As you point out, Mr.C eventually does the same thing and also passes out. He seems a bit weird the next time we see him (in the jail cell), but he doesn't seem dead - and there are no woodsmen dancing around doing Shaman rituals...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

speaking about Twin Peaks on Blu Ray i just remembered a very vivid dream that i had this night, that there was a "hidden" episode to be found on disc 6 that you could access only by watching the entire episode 14 and then pressing fast forward twice or something. it was partly composed of...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

Is anyone else having issues with the photo gallery on Disc 7? I have a pretty old Blu Ray player (Sony BDP-S300), but I’ve never encountered this particular problem. I can load the first image, but no button will let me progress past that one picture. Anyone have any ideas? I understand that not a...

Re: Black Lodge/White Lodge mythology

I sort of got the sense from Part 15 that Cooper and Jeffries may not have spoken since FWWM. When Jeffries says they “used to” speak, Mr. C immediately references Jeffries’s appearance in Philadelphia, as if that was the last time they spoke. That whole exchange is odd. I think we can take everyth...

Re: Most impenetrable scenes

To me the jail phone call, like the arm wrestling and his resurrection, was just to demonstrate that Mr. C has some supernatural abilities and connections that are vast and unknowable. It doesn't necessarily need to have an "explanation", although further elucidation of this very importan...

Most impenetrable scenes

As much as I love Twin Peaks: The Return there certainly are some scenes that to me seem to be downright impenetrable and that i haven't even seen close to a "reasonable explanation" for, Mister C's weird technique gadgets aside, stuff like Major Briggs and The Giant's plan / Mister C's qu...

Re: Did Cooper really fail? Was Laura really supposed to die?

Excellent post. Definitely food for thought! Yes, I wondered that. Lynch has seemingly developed a great love of Laura and his raison d’être appears to me have shifted from the original idea of the ‘dead girl’ macguffin leading to new stories in the town to making Laura the main character in his fa...

Re: The visual aesthetic of the new Twin Peaks

as has been discussed and mentione in other threads seeing the entire series on Blu Ray really made the visual style pop and glimmer in a way that wasn't at all apparent when watching the compressed streams. there seems to have been quite a lot of work done after the fact so they might very well hav...

Did Cooper really fail? Was Laura really supposed to die?

it seems that one of the more accepted readings of "The Return" is that Cooper failed his mission and what he set out to do. having seen "The Return" several times now and especially having been able to see it all in a few 4-5 hours sittings spread out over a couple of days gives...
