Re: Suggestions for episode 17 - 28 recap

I almost feel like this attitude is even weaker than the weak stretch of episodes. I say watch it all or don't bother with any or it. This is coming from someone who designed the Twin Peaks guide (a work in progress, btw) posted below. The final episode is something that happens in context. It's als...

Re: Farewell, Catherine Coulson

:( Oh man, I just got home and saw this. I am utterly shocked. Such a nice and interesting person so suddenly gone from the world, and from the artistic world of David Lynch. Nobody embodied the mystery and spirit of the woods like Margaret Lanterman, and that character came so much from Catherine C...

Re: Random Twin Peaks Thoughts & Questions

I thought the story was that it was originally written as "chance," but a transcription accident had it as "chants," and Lynch decided he liked that better. I have no idea where I heard it, but I always thought it was the agreed upon lore.

Re: Where (and when and who) were you when you found TP?

The Sunday Boston Globe used to come with a newsprint TV listing called "TV Week" (sample below). I think they featured one particular highlight of the week right up at the front, sometimes with a photo, and going by my hazy memory, it had a somewhat gushing short review of the pilot, whic...

Re: Episode 23

That said, I like this one a fair bit. Love the ending, although they waste its promise in the subsequent episodes, with coop not thinking it worth mentioning that he saw the evil spirit that killed Laura palmer for, what, another four episodes? Up there with him ignoring his vision of the giant as...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces - analysis/thoughts etc

People escape with whatever type of high suits them, and I think what suits them is partly or largely based on individual biology. For many, cocaine creates an intense feeling of euphoria, so I don't think it's odd that a troubled person would choose it. Also, with regards to what Joel said about su...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces - analysis/thoughts etc

We know Sarah continues to live in the Palmer house. I was wondering what that must be like. What would she do with Leland's things? Burn them? Give them to charity? More interestingly, what would she do with Laura's things and Laura's room? Could it be that she's left Laura's room intact?

Re: Episode 29

This has probably come up before, sometime, somewhere. Right after Truman rescues Annie and (bad) Coop when they finally appear by the oil pool, we cut to the Great Northern, where the establishing shot is a closeup of the waterfall. It's one big cascade of water, then it splits in to two distinct ...

LostInTheMovies wrote:you could take my favored approach and watch Missing Pieces BETWEEN the finale & film. I find they make a nice bridge between the worlds of the show and movie, though I seem to be one of the only ones who feels that way!

Re: Season 2 Episode 1 SD scenes in HD remaster

I'd like to make a more general observation about the Blu-Ray and what's on Netflix. I haven't watched TP on Netflix, but I seem to recall that Netflix had a HD version up before the Blu-Ray work was ever completed, meaning that the Blu-Ray is in fact a newer, better version of the material. I guess...

Re: Please Help With a Long List of Questions About Twin Pea

Watch the series again and this time pay more attention to the details. You'll be able to answer the bulk of these questions. I know it's difficult to catch everything the first time through with so much happening, but having a huge list of questions like this answered by others isn't really experie...
