Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I just started a full rewatch of the first 16 Parts, hopefully in time for Sunday night. I will try to update later or when I'm finished so as to relate how the experience compares to watching an episode at a time as they air. Anybody who's read my posts here knows I am quite mixed on TR. To get &qu...

Re: POLL - PART 17 & 18's biggest surprises will be...

It's hard to make predictions for the upcoming 2 episodes, as Audrey's mirror moment sort of placed the reality of everything we've seen so far into doubt. I'm not sure what has really happened and what has been some sort of dream/fantasy. Has the entire show up to this point been a dream, has only...

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-P36IRxGjAJ4/UHMowDkpdXI/AAAAAAAAFcM/lCTzT378s0Y/s640/bed+masks.jpg Nice one, I've certainly had that thought before. That's easily the best part of the Keaton episode as well, which, well, I won't get into here... Conversely, Lynch is also a fan of not just Kubrick general...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I agree but, just for me personally (in my person, subjective view, not presenting this as objective fact - ok MT?) there has been NOTHING playing in my mind between episodes. Nothing sticks and I spend zero minutes thinking about TPTR (except to post here). It's the very worst sign for me. I remem...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I was gonna make a post in the thread about TR getting a glowing review from the Washington Post, but I didn't wanna get chewed out, so... I have very complicated and mixed feelings on TR as a whole, and I suspect many critics do as well. Surely some do love it, as they've written, but I can't help ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Maybe there haven't been that many Angelo tracks in TR, but there's been several at least. You can find them on the soundtrack here . I think "Accident / Farewell Theme" (which, IIRC, we heard after the hit and run, after the Log Lady died, and in 16 when Coop says goodbye to his "fam...

Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Man I wish I could keep pace with all the good stuff that gets posted in this thread after I drop in, ignoring the trolls for a moment that is. I guess for me it boils down to prizing the aesthetic or overall vibe of the original series more than that of TR, so even the weaker episodes of it (though...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

how on earth did you ever arrive at this gross generalization From observation. Tons of people on Reddit especially as well as Dugpa find the old series not that special compared to TR. You can see this even just from that new poll asking to choose between New and Old TP... the vast majority, like ...

Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

It seems a lot of the more fervent love for TR is from people who either don't actually like the original series much ("The Lynch episodes were great but everything else was typical TV," etc), or who may be a big fan yet still think TR is better than it. how on earth did you ever arrive a...

Re: Ranking the episode of The Return

Part 11 Part 9 Part 8 Part 3 Part 4 Part 7 Part 2 Part 1 Part 15 Part 14 Part 5 Part 13 Part 6 Part 10 Part 12 Need to rewatch the first few parts. I think I agree with some that they were the most exciting thus far, though this is only clear in retrospect. Don't understand why more people don't ran...

Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Some great points being made here, as always. As I've already said, I'm one who simultaneously enjoys/likes TR and also dislikes it. Or I guess I love some parts and hate others. But even the stuff I love feels of a different order than what was so great about the original run. A lot of it boils do...

Re: Who is Judy? (Spoilers)

I have no idea and expect to be wrong but for now I'm going with Naido, in large part because of the monkey-like sounds she's been making in the jail cell. (Plus there's the Judy/Josie connection and Naido seems to be of Asian descent?)

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Thanks to everyone who appreciated my long & rambling post a couple pages back. I'd response in depth to each but I'm too lazy & shell-shocked at the moment after viewing Part 15... Was it a revelation that turned everything around/will change how this thread sees TR? Nah, probably not - but...
