Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I think an issue with critically appraising Lynch’s works, going back to Eraserhead, is that it’s far easier to dismiss them as incoherent/self-indulgent than to articulate reasons why they’re good, beyond “here’s a list of moments that really affected me emotionally,” because they function on a vis...

The only thing I want to know is whether she confirms the low page count.

Re: Criterion edition 10/17/17
This ended up being a pretty superfluous release. I love watching Sheryl and Angelo talk about this world, but neither contributes much of substance that we haven’t heard in countless other interviews (Angelo has a couple of anecdotes that are new to me, such as the recording of “The Black Dog Runs ...

RIP Brent Briscoe
Dave Macklay passed away on Wednesday. I’m glad he got to play that role before he passed — he brought a likability and kindness that made Dave one of the most memorable new characters this season.

Re: POLL: The Nature of Audrey's Situation (Spoilers)
I have a feeling TFD will clear up certain things (such as the fate of the Mill), but I doubt that it will clarify Audrey's situation. That’s clearly something L/F wanted to leave open to interpretation/speculation.

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
Forgot to mentions the Tremonds and Chalfonts! There’s so much in Part 18, despite it being almost dialogue-free for long stretches. Like so much of this one, Alice Tremond makes perfect sense in a dream-logic sense, but it’s harder to put into focus from a straight plot/mythology standpoint. I woul...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
If we count Carrie as a separate character from Laura and EotA as a different character/entity from MfAP (for argument’s sake), then Cooper and Mike are the only characters from the original series to appear in new footage in Part 18 (Laura and Leland appear in old footage from earlier in S3, and Sa...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I noticed there are 3 types of fans, more or less : 1- The Happy Ones ( The Return is a Masterpiece, it's Art, Lynch is my god.. .) 2- The Formerly Happy Ones ( Wait, nope the ending sucked so it's shit ) 3- The Ugly Haters ( Come on guys, it was awful from the beginning, are you fucking blind? ) I...

Re: POLL: The Nature of Audrey's Situation (Spoilers)
I took Naido more as colorblind casting than DKL specifically wanting an Asian woman. DKL had a prior relationship with the actress and she pulled the role off beautifully...and you can’t even see her face! Who knows though, ha.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
It's all just theories. There are no answers. I get why that’s frustrating, but it’s not an inherently bad thing. The same could be said for, say, 2001: A Space Odyssey. There are plenty of examples of ambiguous cinema being received incredibly well and incredibly poorly, and of course at the end o...

Re: POLL: The Nature of Audrey's Situation (Spoilers)
What could a man possibly do when floating in non-existence than thinking about the women he really loved? It is explicitly shown that one of these women was/is/and always will be/ Diane/Naido, who literally fell for him. Is it difficult to guess who the other "girl" might be? Just look a...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
To awaken her memories since he needs/wants Laura to know who she is. And possibly also to confront Judy... Which unfortunately did not happen. I'm still curious to know how he would have fight her/It. With his super secret weapon Laura, under her golden jelly bean appearance? By the power of love?...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I don’t know that Coop was ever planning on Laura making it “home” if you mean the Palmer house. He seems to be leading her to the gold pool/portal to the Fireman’s quarters, presumably to use as a weapon against Judy (“two birds, one stone”). If he took her home, Leland/Bob would continue raping h...

Re: POLL: The Nature of Audrey's Situation (Spoilers)
I’m not seeing the “Audrey as American Girl” theory. The choice of Ronette’s likeness is far too specific, and I can’t think of any compelling connection between Audrey and Ronette. On the other hand, I could see Donna being the American Girl. Ronette was always sort of Donna’s shadow-self in Laura’...

Re: "Do your palms ever itch?" All things Audrey
What an odd, intriguing find, Jerry! It’s pretty weird that a seemingly abandoned plotline (or multiple abandoned plotlines!) somehow made it to the prop stage. Based on context and tone, I would bet on Catherine as the author. But Josie & Audrey?! Did they even even share a scene?
