Re: Is Mr C split in two?
Just one way to look at it. Here's one of Lynch's quotes he once cited on Twitter, and again in an interview before the return: "Man has control of action alone, never the fruits of the action." Mr. C is in control of his actions, and holding onto Bob, could be the futile attempt to contro...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)
One of the reasons I was fascinated by TP:TR is that it really got me thinking about what may lie beyond life and death, the 'afterlife' so to speak. Did anyone else have these thoughts? Specifically, the show started me thinking, 1. How would we know what is real and what is not in an afterlife? T...

Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)
In Vegas, Dougie lives on Lancelot Court, and there is Merlin Market mentioned as well as the intersection of Merlin and Guinevere. These are references to King Arthur, just like Glastonbury Grove. That plus the 'Sycamore street makes me wonder if maybe Cooper is still in the red room. There's as th...

Re: Ray/Phillip Jeffries storyline
Speaking of Major Briggs, this is interesting "The Tibetan book of the Dead says that the first time you awaken from the unconscious absorption in the body, you have a visual experience, minute and precise and clear, luminous and terrifying, rather like seeing a mirage in a spring field, and al...

Re: Ray/Phillip Jeffries storyline
i'm fine with shifting the Fireman's scene everywhere, I tried many places when trying to get on board with the Coop Hubris theory. I'm not disputing it, Frost basically said it's what it appears to be, it just feels to me like we're supposed to base this on nothing more than Coop being confused in...

Re: Ray/Phillip Jeffries storyline
As for Mr. C and his mysterious phone call, I think he's communicating with Judy/Sarah. I think she's leading on him and Ray throughout the whole series while they think they're communicating with Phillip Jefferies. This works as a good example for me for issues I have with that aspect of the story...

Re: Ray/Phillip Jeffries storyline
Re: one other plot point - I feel relatively convinced the voice on the phone in part 2 is Sarah Palmer/Grace Zabriskie/Judy ("I missed you in New York"). I've heard a fan's attempt at trying to undo the distortion in the voice and it sounds a lot like Grace. But that's me. That could be,...

Re: An apologia for Sarah
Something else about Judy: Cole describes her as an extreme negative force. What else is an negative force? Electricity. When Hawk is describing his map to Frank, he mentions it being a type of fire like electricity. Frank asks if it's good. Hawk says depends on the intention. I think this is import...

Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)
In some eastern theology like Hinduism and Buddhism, the protruding stomach is symbolic of desire, like In the hungry ghosts. Its the domain of addiction, where we constantly seek something outside ourselves to curb an insatiable yearning for relief or fulfillment. The aching emptiness is perpetual ...

Re: An apologia for Sarah
Goddess Kali http://www.goddess.ws/kali.html The dissolving ego, the love for her children (Laura), severed heads (which abound in the series), and the reference to "garland" (ie Briggs) --even dismembered arms (Mike, Ike) is noteworthy. Also Lynch put Kali at the end of his Ronnie Rocket ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
My reaction to part 16 is that it felt too easy and fake. I knew Lynch had subvert it some way in the finale. The 'Richard' version of Cooper is what felt the most realistic to me, an integration of the Cooper's and of someone who's had a rough 25 years.

Re: An apologia for Sarah
Just thought I would share this post I came across. What if Sarah/Judy isn't an 'evil' entity, but something more complex?

Re: Two birds with one stone
This is from Ramayana, a story cited by Lynch in The Big Fish : Valmiki went alone to the clear Ganga waterside and bathed. He washed away the anthill dust and peeled grey bark from a tree and made new fresh clothes. Then he sat back resting against a stone. He watched two small water birds in a tree...
