Re: Twin Peaks Unwrapped Podcast
Sorry to pile on the grief you got in that case! I have no doubt if I was making a podcast I'd probably make some mistakes so I'm not trying to hold you over the coals for it. I did listen to the podcast for the final episode which had the various dignitaries offering their takes... good stuff!

Re: Dreams and meditation...
It's never been scientifically proven one way or another whether or not there are some people who never dream. Still, what is most likely happening is that you don't remember your dreams. At least every human who has been hooked up to equipment that can detect it has an REM stage when they sleep. Th...

Re: Twin Peaks Unwrapped Podcast
I've been getting into listening to podcasts while working and have listened to a couple of podcasts discussing key Lynch directed episodes. It's quite enjoyable but I gotta day it tested my patience when you spent 10 minutes discussing why Ronette Pulaski was named after Roman Polanski. :D Hope you...

It's also possible that Moira was asked and elected not to do the series for religious reasons. I've read that she's very Catholic, and she had to confer with her priest because she was conflicted about appearing in FWWM. It doesn't look like she's appeared in much if any R-rated material since FWW...

Re: The Owls Are Not What They Seem
Good points! Graham Hancock quite specifically draws the connection between the alien abduction experience and the classic Shamanic journey in his book "Supernatural". There's also the interesting appearances of greys in Rick Strassman's study on DMT. I can't recall if it is referenced in ...

Re: The Owls Are Not What They Seem
Yeah, Communion was referenced... I'm not sure if it was in the podcast or in the book. And there is indeed a lot of discussion of that "masking memory" phenomenon. You are right that the Major Briggs scene really seems to fit right in with that concept. These are all accounts from people ...

The Owls Are Not What They Seem
I've recently discovered the podcast "Mysterious Universe", which is kind of like "Coast to Coast AM" only a lot better. This is a particularly good episode, which features much discussion on a book about owls: http://mysteriousuniverse.org/2016/01/15-02-mu-podcast/ http://www.am...

I take it it's confirmed that Forster has been recast as Truman? I haven't been reading this forum much of late and am out of the loop... If so, I take it as a matter of the story taking precedent. Truman the character was important to the story Lynch and Frost wanted to tell and for whatever reason...

Re: Did Lynch actually say TP & Lost Highway share a univers
If Lynch ever said anything to indicate the two stories share a world or universe, I wouldn't be surprised if he meant it something along the lines of "They occupy the same creative mind space" and not literally "they are taking place in the same fictional universe". He may consi...

Re: Star Wars
The film was more or less what I expected... it was entertaining with a talented and charismatic new cast and characters, but at its worst it was certainly derivative fan service. The thing that J.J. Abrams didn't do was ask "what more does the Star Wars universe have to offer that I can bring ...

Re: Fargo season 2
There was definitely a very strong BOB vibe to the Hanzee character in the finale (you'll know what I'm talking about if you see it). I enjoyed season 2 so much more than season 1 which I thought was overrated. Noah Hawley does seem to be a bit of... I suppose you'd call it a post modernist? I'm not...

Re: Star Wars
I am going to see the new movie and I hope I enjoy it, and frankly I anticipate enjoying it more than the prequels. I'm not necessarily of the opinion that no one should make a Star Wars movie other than George Lucas, and actually I think Empire benefited greatly from having Irvin Kershner direct it...

Re: Lynch modified FWWM at Cannes chief's request?
I would love to hear the original sound design as an exercise (certainly if Lynch wanted to do something very experimental and horrific he'd have pulled it off)... I suspect I'd agree with changing it to the Muti music... I think that celestial, spiritual quality was ultimately a necessary thing. It...

Re: The hand shaking
it's no coincidence that the first thing we see of BOB as he emerges at the end of the episode is his spastic hand Yeah, I've always figured BOB was trying people on. Imagine a BOB-inhabited Pete. I love that idea. Honestly I love the hand shaking as a bit of random weirdness as well... my favorite...

Re: Star Wars
I hold Empire in higher regard but yeah I agree intellectually... but as I said in the first post I can't help but feel a excited about seeing Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill reprise there roles and I even geeked about a TV spot that seems to feature a new theme by John Williams. But it...
