Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

Philip Gerard seemed very uncomfortable with Cooper's plan. But Major Briggs intended for him to find the key and go to the Great Northern, so I don't know what to think.. When Jeffries sends Cooper back to the night Laura was murdered, he tells him “this is where you’ll find Judy.” Sarah would hav...

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

What do you think Frost means that in trying to defy the rules and undo a terrible wrong Cooper paid a terrible price? What is the terrible price that Cooper paid? Thought it was interesting he said he needed a break from Lynch after the original run. https://www.indiewire.com/2020/04/mark-frost-twi...

They are - the first one is really good. Laura’s picture moving is pretty creepy.

Re: We Are All Harold Smith Now

Feel a little like Coop in The Return - lost and trying to find his way home. So much of this experience is waiting and wondering when things will get back to normal, and it’s going to be a while. We’re not going to peak where I live until June. Even when it does, I think it will be a different kind...

Re: Twin Peaks Season 3, Star Wars, JJ and Fan Service

My biggest issue with Rise of the Skywalker was its not laying adequate groundwork for many of its storytelling choices. The most glaringly obvious issue is that literally no explanation is given for Palpatine to be alive, except that J.J. wanted to bring back an iconic villain. If you want to enga...

Re: Twin Peaks Season 3, Star Wars, JJ and Fan Service

Finally watched Rise of Skywalker and had prepped myself to be disappointed because of bad reviews, and I LOVED it. I’m scratching my head as to why many reviews were so critical. I feel like some critics disdain anything that comes across as nostalgic in sequels regardless of quality. Instead of ju...

Re: General Discussion on Season 3 (All Opinions Welcome)

Went back and watched Parts 8 and 17 last night and just wanted to highly recommend watching these two together. Haven’t had a chance to go back and watch much of TR lately, so it was great going back to experience these episodes again - they seem linked somehow that’s hard to put into words. Have l...

Re: Peaks Fans Top 10 TV shows

Have been enjoying some of the Twilight Zone marathon on the SyFy network. Just watched “Mirror Image” basically about doppelgängers and parallel universes. There’s even a scene where a man is chasing his doppelgänger like Coop being chased in the Red Room! I can imagine a young Lynch or Frost being...

Re: Twin Peaks Season 3, Star Wars, JJ and Fan Service

I was really surprised by Rogue One - I think that’s the best of the newer Star Wars movies since the original trilogy. I enjoyed that more than TFA or The Last Jedi. Haven’t seen Rise of Skywalker yet.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Playing catch up on the thread, but I interpreted Sherilyn’s tweet more hypothetical and commenting on pay disparities in Hollywood in general as it’s been in the news with Gabrielle Union. If she is talking about something planned for TP, I think her disappointment is understandable as she’s clearl...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I think it’s possible Kyle wouldn’t know if something’s in the works. He’s been pretty vocal about wanting to do more if Lynch/Frost go that route, so it’s not as if they would need to make sure he’s on board before writing a script. Maybe HHM’s source was someone close to Showtime that knows negoti...

Re: Wasn't the killer obvious? (SPOILERS)

I also think the idea that the show would go the darkest possible route, incorporating incest and parental abuse, was something people assumed no network show would touch in that era, and for that reason alone it presumably didn’t cross most viewers’ minds that Leland was even a suspect. Yep - I wa...

Re: Wasn't the killer obvious? (SPOILERS)

I was very young when I watched the original series, so my perception probably would have been different had I watched it ten years later, but I don’t think the killer was obvious. “Crazy” in Twin Peaks is a relative term - plenty of nutty, but lovable characters to go around, so any oddball behavio...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

All the date guessing is in good fun . . . not meant to get anyone’s hopes up or set anyone up for disappointment. Until someone comes out and says it’s definitely NOT happening, I’m staying pretty excited :D. If it’s meant to be, it will be.
