Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

When the doppelganger killed Darya, I thought he was extremely cruel & sadistic. Pretty evil to me. And who knows what he did to Diane & Audrey, but it can't have been good.

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

The Ed and Norma scene was divine. I'm surprised that people aren't into it - it's one of the rare moments of warmth in Twin Peaks that we've seen this time around. Seeing her hand on Ed's shoulder gave me shivers. I felt like Shelly and I got a little teary myself. The stop and start of the music w...

I'm assuming Steven shot Becky, but I'm hoping that she has survived, a la Miriam.

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)

Liked this one a lot but definitely didn't have the same sense of momentum as 14. I was actually disappointed that Jeffries wasn't a monkey. I love the possibility that Sarah Palmer is inhabited by the Jumping Man. I find that to be a much more interesting premise than her being inhabited by the Mot...

The Ed/Norma scene nearly had me in tears. Beautiful.

So... did Steven murder Becky???

Re: Predictions - will Season 3 be the last Twin Peaks? (SPOILERS)

Yeah, the only "edit" I would be interested in would cut out the opening and closing credits. The roadhouse performances are very much a part of the show/film.

Re: Twin Peaks The Return: The Mixed/Moderately Disappointed Thread

I liked the post in the Profoundly Disappointed thread that stated that The Return exists in a different emotional universe to the original series. I'm inclined to agree. Accepting that helps me to appreciate The Return more as its own beast, and to stop expecting the feeling that I got from the pre...

Re: Jeffries and the Monkey

What a delicious development!

Can't wait for what I assume is an inevitable appearance of the monkey in The Return.

Re: Part 14 - We are like the dreamer (SPOILERS)

The humming during BOB's speech from the international pilot / dream of EP 2 being similar to the Great Northern hum is a wonderful observation! I doubt it's a coincidence. Can't wait to see what James finds behind that door. Monica Bellucci? Harry Truman? Lana Milford?

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I thought Part 14 was one of the best of the season. As with the other best ones, it becomes better the more I think about it. (...) Geographically we may have made a return indeed; but, more pivotally to me, it's just not in the same emotional universe at all. (quote shortened to not take up so mu...

Re: Jeremy Lindholm arrested for attempted murder

Damn. Really unfortunate development. I hope his girlfriend has a support system to help her through this.

(on a totally separate note, I don't see the need to bash the Wheeler meme here... Some of us like it a lot! It's pretty harmless fun.)

Re: Twin Peaks The Return: The Mixed/Moderately Disappointed Thread

The Lodge stuff has been pretty hit or miss. I liked Laura's scene, especially when she's sucked away, and I like visual of the lodge being infinite, with the curtains raised and revealing the floor going on and on. But there's the odd flatness in the way it's depicted - I chalk it up just as much t...

Re: Twin Peaks The Return: The Mixed/Moderately Disappointed Thread

One thing I find fascinating is that aside from Part 8, there's been very little consistency amongst the fans in the parts that are considered the best. I'm curious if in the years that follow whether there might be more unanimity about which are the strongest parts. Part 10 was one of my favourites...
