Re: I'm surprised no one ever talks about Billy Zanes...

Billy Zane's character always felt like an afterthought to me. Since Audrey couldn't have Cooper, there had to be ... somebody. And he was actually relatively normal compared to everyone else and every thing else going on, so I can understand why Audrey liked him. But it totally contradicts her char...

Re: When did you first see Twin Peaks?

Can't find a topic specific to Dana and other TP actors' appearances on other television shows. Saw him in a repeat of a 2007 Law and Order: SVU a couple days ago. How nice to see he's still working because I haven't really kept track of the TP alumnus careers per se. I haven't seen Dana in person s...

Actually, let me correct myself a bit. When I said fan sites, I meant not of the quality of dugpa.com. However, Director Guillermo del Toro does have an "official" fan-run site with a message board, but a lot of other bells and whistles. I've never investigated it: http://www.deltorofilms....

That's an excellent question and I wish I could tell you right off the bat there were. I started googling around last night for about an hour, looking for some of my favorite directors not really considered in the "mainstream": Bertolucci, Wes Anderson, P.T. Anderson, Spike Jonze, Michel G...

L.A. is scary because it's basically an unfamiliar place to me, even having grown up near San Diego. I hardly ever went there. Can scary be inspiring? Sure. Forcing yourself to do things you're not accustomed to doing can be liberating. I just haven't had the financial wherewithal in the last severa...

I ... ah, .... hmmm. In response, I've being sitting here trying to think if I've ever done such a thing to a friend who wanted to share a television/movie experience with me. I'd like to think if I had the impulse to titter, and not nervously, I would have smothered it somehow until I was alone. I ...

L.A. scares me but I would love to start attending some of these film events. I so wish I could have been a fly on that wall. What a great experience it must have been.

Do you think it could have been nervous laughter rather than a callous reaction? People sometimes do that in the face of extreme emotions. I can't imagine someone laughing during Maddy's last moments. It's one of the most horrific things I've ever seen. In fact when I rewatched the whole series a fe...

The only thing better than seeing the whole series again via the Gold Box edition would be seeing it in a series of 2 or 3 hour marathons over successive weeks on the big screen. I don't know if there's any grassroots effort out there to accomplish this like the Browncoats do with Firefly/Serenity b...

Lord, is this the part where I have to sing Memories ? 'Cause I can't do Barbra very well. Seriously, I saw the whole series when it first aired but I forgot massive chunks of it, didn't retain any dialogue. What I remember most is the haunting music and I guess that being a musician, that's a tribu...

But who here wouldn't pay top dollar for a set like that? Unfortunately Daniel, all my dollars are like (sob) half dollars. Actually they're more like dimes. But yes, if I had it the green, it would great to have a deluxe set like that. The show deserves it. But this is all assuming I have *cough* ...

This is a very nice interview with David Cronenberg on MSN I just found. I thought it would be more about suggestions on DVDs to buy but he ends up talking about the moviegoing v. stay-at-home watching movies experience, which jives nicely with this discussion so far. Now I just need to find a "...

I dunno - I've been thinking about what I read at the link but can't watch the videos here at work. Since I don't know a lot about the work of the DL Foundation, but have an intuitive sense they mean no harm in any way, this sounds like an extremely unfortunate major miscommunication. I can certainl...
