Re: Laura's diary pages (Potential Spoiler?)
I'm really of the opinion that TP fans should feel spoiled in this regard. I mean, whatever you think of them as written materials for their own sake, the books as artistic efforts are not on the level of, like, the Star Wars expanded universe, or assasin-for-hire ghostwritten novelizations of films...

Re: Lynch Telling off his crew
Maybe you think a forum like this is the wrong venue for talk of mental health? Lynch's own mental health is something he has discussed up to a point. No he doesn't do a daily video diary about it (as I wished for previously) but he's made mention of suffering too much anger, agitation or the 'rubb...

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread
This is such a funny sentence. Thank you for these posts, I don't think I'd ever have quite looked at them in this way.Jasper wrote:How do we know it's an electrical tower? Because this is David Lynch and it's labelled, electrical tower.

Re: Lynch Telling off his crew
This topic is something that bugs me personally. So I'm not exactly ranting against anyone in particular. -- The discussion of an artist's psychology in a clinical sense has too much of a tendency in my mind to end up somewhere adjacent to the Nazis, deeming whatever they didn't like as degenerate, ...

Re: Part 17 - The past dictates the future (SPOILERS)
I will need to rewatch this part for at least one thing in particular: there is a one brief shot of some machinery in a room at Fireman's place/palace. That looks interesting. I don't know if I've said it on the boards anywhere, but I consider this the single most important shot in the entire seaso...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)
One small detail that I fixate on every time. This episode ends with arguably the biggest gesture towards nostalgia, with Audrey reclaiming the limelight if even for a moment. And then, during the credits where the band plays, the curtains frame the image in such a way that it almost makes me feel l...

Re: Part 15 - There's some fear in letting go (SPOILERS)
That always makes me laugh. Who carries a pad of paper around in his pocket like that? Why wouldn’t he just put the coordinates in his phone? (Although he goes through phones so quickly, maybe that wouldn’t have been the best idea after all.) I never thought it odd, then again I carry a little note...

Re: Laura's diary pages (Potential Spoiler?)
Informing a performance doesn't make it useful for tracking dates for plot continuity. Also, no matter what informs a performance, it's still just saying the lines on the page, and if the people writing those lines don't care about the Diary, the result won't reflect it very much. The people writin...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
Are we not going to talk about how Lynch just put up a new short that features golden orbs, Judy facial features and frog moths coming out of an egg? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eV8CPB7u_rg That's not new actually. Around 50% of the shorts he's been posting are old, either from his old paysite ...

Re: Part 12 - Let's rock (SPOILERS)
Another thing that I recall mentioning originally (in the disappointed thread I think), when I first saw this part, is that the previous scene (where warden Murphy gets shot) shows the waning Moon, and yet Charlie says that it is very dark outside as it is a new moon. I did not think it was a coinc...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?
I think it's worth taking into account that following Twin Peaks, Frost utilized the production arm they'd set up at Lynch/Frost to make the anthology documentary series American Chronicles, and the comedy he & Lynch both worked on, On the Air. With the clout they have now, perhaps the next thin...

What about it? Dougie must have remembered here his fall into non-existence in part 2, with dandruff reminding him of all those chaotic particles all around him as he was falling down (or alternatively, the scene with Naido falling of that platform in space, and I just saw somebody else made this p...

Re: Laura's diary pages (Potential Spoiler?)
I don't see any point in bothering with the Secret Diary fanfic. Lynch never read it, and he doesn't even care about his own continuity! I would stick to TV + FWWM, to make it a bit less messy. Sheryl Lee read it and used it to inform her performance, and seeing as she's a major driving force for t...

Re: Parts 3 & 4 - Call for help & ...brings back some memories (SPOILERS)
I've always taken the weird voice to be the doppel's almost ridiculously bad attempt to mimick Cooper's genuine human mannerisms. Like it's something so beyond the doppelganger that he lacks even the capability to know how badly he's failing, similar to anyone who's bad at anything, really!
