Re: RE: Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Honestly this thread has turned out way more interesting (and way bigger!) than I thought it would. Really, thank you to everyone (almost everyone) for contributing. Ultimately it was intended to be a few pages at most of a few of us consoling each other over the loss of something dear to us. The '...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Plus as I and a couple of people have pointed out, there's a level of hypocrisy here. The same fans that decried our nostalgic tastes are in rapture because we have a missing piece from the original series back. Being honestly engaged with the Dougie saga and what it was trying to do does not mean ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I got a kick out of seeing Cooper back, I really did. But honestly it did feel like a kind of cheap thrill and a pretty easy way for Lynch to get fans cheering. i was completely on board with this thing until episode 6. I liked ep 8 alot. My attention drifted after that, I thought it had lost it's ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I mean, I am conscious of the fact that I created the thread so may have a vested interest in continuing to be disappointed rather than turn around and say, 'Fuck guys, I got it wrong, this is amazing.' I can only promise that I could care less about that as compared to getting a TP I love. But hone...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Good illustration of what I was just saying : unfaire subective criticism. There's no point in watching a show when questioning ALL of its artistic choice. At this point, you would have had better cool off, take a break and see the whole thing later. I love the show but this comment is unfair. This...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Yeah Yaxomoxay you've been great. From my point of view comments are directed more towards the 'Haters gonna hate' trolls. But also occasionally to Needleman and Mtwentz (although they've been pretty reasonable at times too).

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Haters gonna hate. This episode is receiving universal acclaim. Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion but if you've decided that you'll hate this show no matter what, no chance you can enjoy it anymore at this point. I wouldn't expect someone saying 'Haters gonna hate' to understand wha...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
So, yeah, sorry but don't expect us to turn around after 15 episodes and be all, 'Praise Lynch!' Plus as I and a couple of people have pointed out, there's a level of hypocrisy here. The same fans that decried our nostalgic tastes are in rapture because we have a missing piece from the original ser...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
You endured through Dougie... you can certainly endure our constant invasion ;) But it's really annoying when those people always make wrong assumptions about the disappointed group. First they accuse us of hating the series because they think we're nostalgic and just want the old characters, and t...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
And honestly, sorry but real Coop is important but he was only one part of what made the show great. The town itself was entirely missing from this episode. But it's not even just that, it's more like the ONLY good thing about this episode was real Coop re-emerging. It conjured up strong feelings on...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Rather than make this series any better, the return of the Coop we know and love puts this series' failings into even sharper relief. What we wouldn't have given for Cooper to have been there from the start. Honest question: How would the hyper-competent Cooper of this episode - who's now taken tim...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
In addition, anywhere outside of this thread I'm seeing nothing but "HOLY SHIT THAT WAS THE BEST HOUR OF TELEVISION". Nearly everyone else is too blindly excited by Coop's return to criticize at all... so don't worry, you're not going against the grain by "not understanding the hate&...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Just remember I almost lost it during the 'Silencio' scene. Think I was quite fragile at the time. Was actually on a date but took everything I had not to break down in tears. I should be more ashamed to admit this.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
mtwentz I thought you could benefit from an objective point of view... this coming from someone who named themselves after a fictional food critic who was too up her own ass to eat her own daughter's omelette without moaning, and who gave a great diner a shite ( oops sorry objective) review, aliena...
