Re: S3: Biggest Disappointment About Unresolved Subplots?
Audrey and Bobby were probably the two characters who seemed to have changed the most since the original series, so for that reason I'd have liked to see a little more of both of them. Even if all of Audrey's scenes were dreams or hallucinations, I'd like to know more about why she was imagining the...

Re: Bob
Reposted from the Freddie thread: I'm comfortable viewing the green glove/Bob-ball scene as a sort of abstraction or representation of what's "really" happening, kind of like in "Flatland" where the two-dimensional people can only perceive two dimensions of the three-dimensional ...

Re: Freddie, or Why the Wind was Sucked Out of the Sails
I tend to think of these sorts of scenes as a sort of abstraction or representation of what's "really" happening, kind of like in "Flatland" where the two-dimensional people can only perceive two dimensions of the three-dimensional being, and thus they don't bother me too much. I...

Re: Gender in Twin Peaks: The Return (SPOILERS)
(Doesn't mean there shouldn't have been some female characters with agency as an honest counterpoint in the midst of all that, because there really could and should have been, and I think would have at no expense to the series with a little workshopping, but at least with everything still pointedly...

Re: Gender in Twin Peaks: The Return (SPOILERS)
If there's some grander cosmic theme L/F are building to, they are definitely using women as a shortcut, as props of negativity. Bingo, that's also my view in a nutshell. As a separate thing.... The Charlie character marks yet another instance of Lynch using physical disabilities as a shortcut to t...

Re: Annie and Dale
I actually think there may be a good reason why Cooper himself doesn't mention her, and that's that he most likely already knows her eventual fate and has had a long time in the Lodge to come to terms with it. I'd agree, however, that the lack of overall follow-up beyond the one mention from Hawk wa...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
What I'm finding difficult with the finale is separating my mind and my heart. I can appreciate all the interesting theories about what it means, but I can't switch off the feelings I had for these characters in the original Twin Peaks. The world is already going through a dark time, and Cooper has...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
Sorry if this has been answered (and it may have been across multiple posts), but just trying to summarize: When we see Laura's corpse disappear from the waterfront, are most people interpreting that as Coop saved her life and she wasn't killed? So, she is still part of that "reality"? Or...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
It does have an awkward feeling, but I don't think the chairs being upside down has anything to do with it. Restaurant staff often put the chairs upside down on the tables in order to clean the floors.TheGum wrote:Why are the chairs upside down? What an awkward feeling that Judy's has!

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
Your observation that Leland's command to find Laura actually happened after the fact in this episode is intriguing, but then again, Leland had exactly the same line of dialogue the first time Cooper escaped the lodge. And within the lodge time does obviously not run in a linear fashion. So, yeah, ...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
-An electrical pole with the number 6 by Carries. He seems surprised that she looks like Laura. Who was he expecting? And Carrie, when Coop identifies himself as FBI, immediately thinks he's there for some other reason. "Did you find him?" She's not particularly concerned about letting an...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
I don't think he was Mr. C. I do think elements of his doppelganger were now heightened in the warped, askew alternate reality. His shadow self is a part of him, and the world was out of balance. I have to say the scene at the cafe might be the best example. He seemingly did the right things - but ...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
As this sinks in, I'm getting a strong MD feel. The "dream" has a happy ending (Bob is shattered, Mr. C is sent back to the lodge, Janey-E and Sonny Jim get the husband/dad they want, plenty of sandwiches for everybody, Laura is saved, etc.). Then we see an ugly real world. Idiots with gu...

Re: Part 18 - What is your name? (SPOILERS)
Can we talk for a second about the Cooper/Diane relationship? I did read "My Life, My Tapes," but I don't remember the apparent reference to something happening between the two of them at one point. Still, taking for granted that it's there, these episodes make it seem as if they'd been q...
