Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

On a related note, does anyone have a reliable guesstimate on how much the show actually cost (in production, not marketing)? There have to have been cost synergies with shooting as one long movie as opposed to episodically, not to mention the fact that all cast sans Kyle MacLachlan reportedly worke...

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

As much as I would love the show to be taking the nation by storm like 'Game of Thrones' or 'The Walking Dead,' it somehow seems appropriate that 'Twin Peaks' is struggling in the ratings - it's like the Winter/Spring of 1991 all over again!

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I'm quite sure this will be it. Apparently the show drastically differs from what Showtime originally envisioned and the ratings haven't been that good. I'm fine with only one season. This is the first I've heard of the series differing from what Showtime envisioned. I don't doubt that being the ca...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)

Maybe Bad Coop was in town a little longer then we think? Maybe he was hiding out in Windom's cabin? After all, his metal briefcase seems to be the same. Interesting theory! Personally, I would love to get some more detail on what exactly happened in the relative aftermath of the S2 finale. We know...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I think this is the end. Season 3 took, I believe, 6 years to develop, negotiate, write, shoot, and post-produce. Unless they drastically change the approach to future seasons (reduced episode order, multiple directors, episodes shot in units as opposed to one long movie), I don't see how they could...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)

If I remember, I think Ben owned the place outright and Blackie was the lead madam, although Jean Renault and Blackie were trying to get control (and I think Hank was sent to convey that message back to Ben) (I only know as I watched it about two weeks ago!) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Ben own...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)

I don't know what else could be in Room 315 of real significance though; maybe Audrey penned some significant letter and slipped it under his door before going to the bank, only for it to get kicked under the bed (again)? Or maybe the Josie nightstand has somehow ended up in 315. I think the room a...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)

There has to be great significance to Room 315 for the key to have survived Cooper's trans dimensional journey, when other items that were in his pockets (gun, badge, presumably a wallet) didn't. That said, I am holding out hope that, at some point, Cooper finds his micro-cassette recorder in his in...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)

Love this idea; ridiculous but you're right, I could totally see them just leaving it locked with Twin Peaks logic. Imagine what that room looks like now. There are a lot of ways they could leave the room untouched/unoccupied. The easiest way is to say Audrey kept the room empty, knowing that Coop ...

Re: Part 5 (SPOILERS)

The MacLachlan/Silva face morph is subtle but effective and creepy as hell. Is anyone able to figure out what image/footage of Silva was used to create the effect? It's definitely not from Episode 14, when BOB kills Maddy. I think it comes from Episode 16 when Bob is chewing gum in the mirror.

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Whether the ratings ultimately matter or not might be moot if the intention was always to offer this as a closed-ended, one-and-done limited series. I know there have been whispers from Lynch, Frost and MacLachlan that "The Return" might not in fact be "the end", but I've always ...

Re: Cooper's Hair (SPOILERS)

When I watched the original series, I was always under the impression that Cooper 'checked' his physical body at the door when he entered the lodge - sort of like a coat check - and that whichever Cooper exited the Lodge would take control of the body. This would explain how Cooper enters the curtai...

Re: Cooper's Hair (SPOILERS)

I wouldn't read too much into this. We saw Cooper wake up several times in the original series without stubble and sometimes without the disheveled hair (most notably in the final scene of Episode 29).

Re: NON SPOILERS: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Showtime Thread

Episodes 3 and 4 got a 0.04 / 195,000 rating according to Showbuzz Daily. Disappointing but obviously most fans streamed the episodes ahead of time. The real test is next Sunday's ratings, but this does not bode well for any additional seasons after this. Absolutely agree that this Sunday's episode...

Re: Parts 3 + 4 (SPOILERS)

I've always thought the whole 'Bob kills for pleasure' was a giant plothole though. If he was occupying Leland since he was a boy, shouldn't there have been a trail of bodies all over Washington? Well, we don't know for sure that he hasn't been killing since Leland was a boy - we just don't know of...
