Re: Miguel Ferrer Has Died

RIP In terms of the new Twin Peaks, it's odd how Ferrer and Coulson just made it in, and Bowie just missed it. With a cast this big there is always the risk of losing someone, but who would have believed at the outset of this project that before it even aired we'd have lost the actors behind charact...

Re: "Elga, Baby! Damn! No, I found something!"

The "Complete Mystery" subtitles in fact read, "Hell, God, baby, damn, no..." That's what it always sounded like to me. But I could never be completely sure. My take is that this may be a repeat of an earlier exclamation made by Jeffries —  the result of a psychically shattering...

Re: Above the convenience store: Scene Analysis

Aqua, Thanks for that addition. You make some very good additional points. You might want to check out some of the various threads where we discuss Garmonbozia. If you search the forum for Amrita and Soma you will see a lot of info. This thread is a good example: http://www.dugpa.com/forum/viewtopic...

Re: New Time Watcher, New Time Fan

There's another reason for "Hallelujah"...34 years before Twin Peaks that same actor (Hank Worden) played a character named Mose Harper in the classic western The Searchers. Mose's trademark in the film was to do an Indian whoop and then declare "Hallelujah!" - exactly as Worden...

Re: Let's talk about MIKE

Saturn's child wrote:Forgive me if it's been mentioned, but I've always thought:

Formica --> 'Formikea' --> 'For Mike'
I think that's a good observation. I don't know if I've heard it before or not, though it seems blazingly obvious when you spell it out like this.

Re: Heather Graham on WWHL

Regardless of what anyone feels about the ditching of the Cooper/Audrey romance, or even Graham's acting, Annie did become an important part of the plot. Though a very young Graham was thrown into a dysfunctional Twin Peaks whirlwind, I think she had some good moments, especially in the finale. What...

Re: Did Lynch actually say TP & Lost Highway share a univers

I agree that it looks a lot like Laura in Silencio, and a little bit like Ronette. I don't discount it, but even if it's not purposeful, it's still striking.

As I recall, it was dugpa who asked Lynch if it was Laura and Ronette in Silencio, and Lynch responded that it's "your imagination."

Re: Did Lynch actually say TP & Lost Highway share a univers

Here's an earlier thread on the subject: http://www.dugpa.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=84 Until I see an actual citation I'm going to lean towards Lynch not having said anything so explicit. This doesn't mean that they don't share a universe, but the issue is whether Lynch actually said it, or ...

Re: Twin Peaks Christmas

This one "12 days of Christmas" is much better then the old one! Fantastic editing job! :D It's excellent. I hadn't seen it, so when I went to grab a version of the song from yt I was quite surprised and impressed. It's clearly a labor of love. The intro and outro additions are a wonderfu...

Re: Twin Peaks Christmas

I should probably clarify that — as far as what is relevant to Twin Peaks — my personal collection amounts to two owls. The collection you see is a digital one. Most of these ornaments can be found for sale, though a couple are antique (the angel and the rustic traffic light, the latter being from R...

Re: Twin Peaks Christmas

Thanks, Annie. I was searching around for something else, and I kept stumbling upon Peaks-y things, so it became like a treasure hunt, finding traditional blown-glass ornaments that, when taken together, would clearly spell out Twin Peaks Owls are the most common. Actually, I have a couple myself. W...

Re: Possible SPOILERS: S3 casting & returning actors/charact

I'm sure other people have noticed this, but it's just occurred to me that desmond twisting the deputy's nose mirrors cooper affectionately tweaking truman's. Fits in quite nicely with the deer meadow section as a kind of travesty/nightmare version of TP whoa that's great, did not notice that! I co...

Re: Possible SPOILERS: S3 casting & returning actors/charact

I'd really like to see Desmond, whether or not anything is explained about his disappearance (which, like Jeffries' disappearance, seems to involve finding the ring). It's very possible that Desmond's soul was utterly annihilated, so he may be gone for good. Then again, he could be wandering about t...

Re: Possible SPOILERS: S3 casting & returning actors/charact

I heard a live interview with Chris Isaak today on EW Radio. They asked him if David Lynch had talked to him at all about the new Twin Peaks. Isaak said that he hadn't talked to Lynch about it. It didn't sound like he was hiding anything. I would think that if Chet Desmond were to appear that Isaak...
