Nominated for Nuttin

Melencholia has received not a single nod from the Academy of whatever.Even the incredible performances by Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsbourg are ignored.

I believe the reason for this neglect to be painfully obvious. Can anyone guess what it is? :(

Those who do not learn the lessons of History are doomed to repeat it, next Quarter. :)
We're waiting to catch this one on HBO or whatever. Allegedly, this film is riddled with historical inaccuracies.

Tree Of Life.
While I liked the movie and applaud its scope and ambition, it shares the same flaws as The New World, that is self indulgence, under-writing and slooww pacing.
Joanna Going still looks smashing in her brief appearance.

Melancholia , the most interesting film I've seen this year. Kirsten Dunst has the role of a lifetime here.

Re: Last Book You Read

We watched Angel Heart last night( for the n th time, this go-round on DVD upconverted to fake 1080p.) The film adaptaton is superior to the novel and moderately faithful( though the climax is moved to NOLA, it works.) Almost as much graphic, sleazy nudity and sex as any given episode of Game Of Thr...

Re: Last Film You Watched

Call Her Savage I figured it'd be like Ramona . Well, guess not. Clara Bow is sensational in this role, perhaps because her character is a moody, bipolar beauty. I've seen Wings , but had no idea she could Act. The history of how this lurid, sexy film got made in 1032( pre-code or not) is interesti...
