Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/

I didn't say "new character"! I have no idea whether the mystery compiler is a character we've seen before or not. I suppose it could be one of the dead or non-returning characters (maj. briggs?) but even then I think there'd be a strong chance of their investigation being mentioned in s3,...

Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/

sorry that was unclear - by "100%" I just meant that I'm completely certain. I agree that a comparatively small proportion will be post-s2, but I think there's no way in hell this "history" stops at the conclusion of the windom earle case.

Re: 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' novel by M. Frost 10/

it will definitely, 100% go beyond the end of series 2. Frost has said that the found documents that comprise the novel are a kind of dossier being assembled by [mystery character he refuses to name]. Obviously, this character will be in the new series and their investigation/research/whatever will ...

Re: Beyond Season 3?

Andy staggering is silly but it works for me, reminds me of the fight scene in the missing pieces in the way it occupies a midpoint between cartoon goofiness and uncomfortably protracted violence (andy appears to be concussed, is actually bleeding and there's something hard to watch about seeing him...

Re: What happened to Donna? (Casting Spoilers)

in a way, another actor interpreting the role would be the fourth physical/behavioural transformation of this character: s1 lfb -> s2 lfb -> kelly -> ??? so it kinda fits with the idea of donna as somehow protean (a bit like how laura with her various wigs literally seems like a different person eve...

Re: Cooper in season 3: good Coop or evil Coop?

^haven't clicked that thread due to the spoiler warning, but I assume it has to do in part with halperidol, which just occurred to me today as the simplest answer to a lot of the above questions - cooper learning to maintain a fragile control over his alter ego in a similar way to gerrard (if not th...

Re: Heather Graham on WWHL

Echoing those who don't mind Graham's dippy Annie (despite the whole thing being a regrettable misstep), I especially think that her spacey, tranked-out portrayal of the character is excellent under lynch's direction. Her single line in fwwm gives me shivers. Unfortunately, rushed (I won't say lazy)...

Re: Possible SPOILERS: S3 casting & returning actors/charact

I'm sure other people have noticed this, but it's just occurred to me that desmond twisting the deputy's nose mirrors cooper affectionately tweaking truman's. Fits in quite nicely with the deer meadow section as a kind of travesty/nightmare version of TP

Re: Episode 28

God yeah. I don't really get mad at the lame parts of season 2 as there's always some decent stuff in there, but this ep and the preceding one are probably the ones that irk me the most even though this is where it's supposed to have "picked up". I just hate windom earle so much, from the...

Re: The Bob/Leland relationship

Count me among those who see Leland as the agent of Laura's abuse - I find it hard to see how you can come to any other conclusion, in fact (almost to the point of finding it offensive). Even the murders, although more BOB's doing obviously, seem to me to have their origin in Leland's weakness, lust...

Re: Episode 23

Yeah, it's obvious what they're going for (probably too obvious, although I also really like that scene you mention). In a way, this stuff is harder to take than dale's imperfect courage and eventual succumbing to bob in the final episode - it's like, ok, but did you have to turn our guy into an act...

Re: Episode 23

That said, I like this one a fair bit. Love the ending, although they waste its promise in the subsequent episodes, with coop not thinking it worth mentioning that he saw the evil spirit that killed Laura palmer for, what, another four episodes? Up there with him ignoring his vision of the giant as ...

Re: Episode 23

One can only assume that jack wheeler getting a boner over 10-year-old Audrey is the writers' subtle jab at being told to nix the cooper-Audrey relationship because a twentysomething being interested in an 18-year-old is just too outrageous
