Re: Part 4 of Journey Through Twin Peaks: Laura is the One
By writing Phillip and not Gerard, you've made me notice the similarity of the names Phillip Gerard and Phillip Jeffries. It's probably been mentioned many times, but it's weird. Not that it means anything, but Twin Peaks does love doubling.

Re: What are the Owls?
Very interesting. I don't the owls are only evil. I think they are used by both good and evil spirits. So yes the Giant was an owl in the Roadhouse. This is essentially my feeling. I see them as vessels or eyes for lodge spirits, good and bad, though perhaps mostly bad when we see them on the show....

Re: Part 4 of Journey Through Twin Peaks: Laura is the One
Laura in the train car. My longest video yet, even though the scene itself is not very long! In some ways, this might be my favorite from the series. It explores my theory about what happens there and why it matters, investigating the angels, the ring, Hindu philosophy, the character of Ronette, Sh...

Re: Part 4 of Journey Through Twin Peaks: Laura is the One
I've watched each of these three episodes twice. More great work.
I encourage everyone to watch the entire ongoing series from the beginning.

Re: Season 2 - Mistakes (goofs)
Here's a few mistakes (goofs) I've noticed while watching Season 2 on brand-new DVDs. We're probably just noticing these things now as the images are so much clearer! Spotting goofs doesn't distract from my love of TP. But it is fun Episode 8 (Episode 1 of Season 2): You can see a boom mike in the ...

Re: My reading of the end of Fire Walk With Me
I've seen it suggested here that when Leland is healed in the lodge he may also be psychologically reset, as in what consciousness he has of his/BOB's evil deeds is erased and he's essentially got amnesia about the whole thing. Then, perhaps, closer to his death, BOB may begin to leak over into Lela...

Re: Vedic/Hindu influence on FWWM
Here's something interesting. In the Red Room we have a Saturn lamp (and a Venus statue, and even a red dwarf). It's said that the Black Lodge opens up when Jupiter and Saturn meet. Jupiter is a very interesting word. The Roman god Jupiter derives from the Greek god Zeus Pater (say this quickly and ...

Re: Dopplegangers
Someone on an alt.tv thread noted the similarity to Shiva: Hm. I can't say that I find that very convincing. I find the sign language for tree somewhat more convincing, but I'm not at all sold on that either. http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/fc/3e/7a/fc3e7a38fcf661d913873086ae21c487.jpg Then ...

Re: Dopplegangers
Plus at the start of the scene I think that was the good Laura bc of the "don't be afraid" hand gesture (buddhist) she made to Cooper You mean this? I haven't seen any broad agreement about what it is. Some people have said it means tree, or this or that. Can you provide a source where I ...

Re: The Owl Cave Ring - thematic significance
I think Lynch reimagines MIKE in the film, just as he reimagines Leland and some aspects of the BOB/Leland relationship. I don't think MIKE and the LMFAP were the same entity in the show, or that the LMFAP was the arm, but that seems to be the case in the film. MIKE may well have been a reformed evi...

I think the ring may represent a marriage/deal between BOB and MIKE, with MIKE being the stronger of the two. It definitely exerts control over BOB, and naturally it dooms victims to pain & suffering and ultimately death (or at least disappearance from our plane of existence). Their deal guarant...

Re: Review of The Missing Pieces
Interesting observation about the receiving of the ring. I certainly wouldn't be surprised to hear about that thieving nurse in Mark Frost's novel. Due to the fast-acting/dooming nature of the ring, I don't think she'll be around in 2016. One might wonder if the ring has a seducing nature - somethin...

Re: Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray Official Discussion Thread - Spoil
I just saw this movie poster/cover. I thought it looked a little bit familiar. Coincidence? https://i.imgur.com/GCA7FBV.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51KOL4Mo2YL._SY300_.jpg The film is from 2013, probably shown at a few festivals, and didn't see wide release until 2014 (you can see a la...

Re: Log Lady intros (& her sweaters)
Regarding the sweaters, I'm not sure what any of it means, or what feelings drove the choices, but....this is no accident. If by episode 14 you mean the killer reveal, then that's a pretty pivotal episode, and it's Lynch's last directed episode prior to the series...er...SEASON finale. What episode ...

Re: Vedic/Hindu influence on FWWM
I pretty much tapped myself out when we first went into this subject. Now this is really reaching, but it's fun finding little parallels between TP and legends like these, even if it's mostly or completely unintentional. I saved this stuff a little while back. I think it may all be on wikipedia. Enj...
