Re: If TP was Reimagined, what Current Actors would Work?

Audrey --> Evan Rachel Ward? She has very lost looking eyes and plays the young disturbed trouble-maker well, I think a younger Alicia Silverstone would've worked but she's too old now; You mean Evan Rachel Wood ? I think she'd be alright but I can't help but think she'd get really annoying fast. F...

Re: Eraserhead is my most spiritual movie...

Interesting. Now I'll have a whole new bunch of things to think about next time I watch it, so thanks. Luckily I have the Lime Green Set now, so I'll probably get back to it soon. Before I would just have to wait until the next time it played in a film reparatory theatre.

Re: Eraserhead is my most spiritual movie...

Well, if you subscribe to the theory that the Lady in the Radiator relates to suicide and that the sperm things are sins, then it could be that the LitR is telling Henry that suicide will get rid of all his sins. Maybe in the beginning God is taking his sins, but eventually they just become too much...

Re: Eraserhead is my most spiritual movie...

Or it could be that Henry really wants to erase his sins which is why he (possibly) kills himself in the end. I always thought the baby looked a lot like the sperm-things, so maybe the baby is the ultimate sin but in order to kill it he has to kill himself. As to whether the Lady in the Radiator is ...

Re: Eraserhead is my most spiritual movie...

Well he did say that he was stuck when he was filming or writing it he opened the Bible and found a part that helped him out a lot. He doesn't say what the specific verse was but the story is in CtBF, if you want to read the non-paraphrased version. I always thought it was interesting that he refers...

Re: What Scenes take you out of the moment or make you cringe?

I second everything you said and would probably add 60% of the things that happen between episodes 18 and 24. I just could not get involved in the show during those episodes. Pretty much all of the Lana Milford, Nadine, and Little Nicky scenes took me out of it and let's no even get started on Evely...

Re: "Do your palms ever itch?" All things Audrey

First of all, welcome NoiselessFan! I think they stopped the whole Cooper/Audrey thing because Kyle Machlachlan was uncomfortable with it because it didn't go with the character and I agree. Cooper seemed way too morally upright to be in a sexual relationship with an underage girl and drag her into ...

Re: Help identifying a DL.com piece

I know you seem to have found what you're looking for, but When you say "DavidLynch.com" and "still image of Laura Palmer," I think of the short Flash piece that he did in the Booths section of his site. There was a code on the Season 1 release of TP in an Easter Egg. Type that ...

Re: Has there been an email campaign to Criterion about FWWM?

One thought I have had recently is that if Lynch was actively trying to acquire the rights, the continued email campaigns to MK2 could prompt MK2 to raise their price to license the scenes to Lynch thus leaving us where we are at today. Hmm, interesting thought. I guess we really are at a crossroad...

Okay, thanks. I guess it may be a bit of a gamble for me to get these tickets, but I'll give it some more thought.

Re: If you could go back in time...

I can't remember exactly which episode this was in, but I call the scene "Love in TP". It's the scene with Gordon Cole and Shelly and Coop meeting Annie. The music coupled with the overall giddy feeling I get when watching this makes me wish that I was just casually sitting at the bar at ...

Question about the 2009 Peaks Fest

I looked at the website, but I couldn't find out what cast members are going to be there. Do they usually not announce which cast members will be there until the period for buying tickets is over? I know seeing cast members isn't the entire point of the festival, but I would like to know if I'm goin...

Re: Quantum Leap

There are reruns of it on the Sci-Fi channel, but its also out on DVD. I'm not a Trekkie (though I've liked what I've seen of the original series) but I have heard complaints about Enterprise from friends who are.

Quantum Leap

Is anyone here into Quantum Leap? When I first saw Dean Stockwell's name in the opening credits on Blue Velvet, I got really excited, and after I saw the Ben scene, I got even more excited. Ben was quite a departure from Al, the part I was used to seeing him play (even though I know BV came before Q...

Re: Eraserhead screening at Brooklyn Academy of Music next week

Yeah, they show it at the IFC Center pretty frequently. Just this past Summer they showed it as part of their Waverly Midnights series, which I think is what they're doing now too, and the Summer before last they screened it at normal times for the 30th anniversary of its release. I'd totally see it...
