Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I really think you guys should speak your mind. The only people you're going to get flak from probably shouldn't be in the thread.

Sylvia - just bought 'Dead Stars'. Thanks for the recommendation! Have that and Infinite Jest to read, from recommendations in this thread!

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I really like that post ABR. I do feel like sincerity has been missing from TPTR. The original had its fair share of 'campness' as you call it but it was balanced out. FWWM was almost entirely sincere and I loved it. It sounds paradoxical but TPTR has had a surfeit of nastiness and banal violence bu...

But I am not part of this group, I am just one of the heretics here!!

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I couldn't help but watch a S4 but I don't want it.
The musical contributions, whether by Dean Hurley or Badalamenti have just made no impact on me.
There are very few professions where people are better in their 70s than in their 20s to 50s.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Yes. Let us not forget this is a fine actor and a gentleman. I wish I look that good when I am 78 if I get there. My comment wasn't meant as any disrespect to the actor. But if the actor is no longer capable of portraying the force that he was in the original/FWWM then maybe don't put him in at all...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Besides my thank you post a few pages back, I had planned on only reading this thread until the whole show was over because some of the later parts made me appreciate earlier parts more, but Part 16 has left me with a feeling that I want to put out there and I don't have anyone else to talk to this...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Mike's lessened 'power' may simply be due to the the fact that Al Strobel is 78 years old. He's clearly a little frail and combined with the way Lynch has shot the Red Room, he sometimes looks a little diminished. Yes. Let us not forget this is a fine actor and a gentleman. I wish I look that good ...

Exactly Bob-1. A grumpy old caretaker! Exactly right, that's what he is. He's like the Black Lodge whipping boy lol.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
There is a story of certain Bonnie and Clyde, maybe some visiting posters should have read that first before painting with a wide brush. Why pile everything up on this generation? I have two kids, 15 and 9, I do not think they are at fault for what is going on in the world. They're responsible for ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
With the demise of Chantal and Hutch, I'm left wondering - has Lynch been waiting since 1994 to let us know he's not that keen on Tarantino? Honestly, what was the point of these two except to carry out acts of pointless violence, bitch about fast food, then get dispatched in an over the top shower...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
Are you serious? Every time we express a view we have to qualify our opinion? It's implicit in saying, 'This is good' or 'This is bad' that the view is subjective. GTFO. Reindeer is well received here because he is balanced and doesn't go out of his way to be condescending or acerbic. He always show...

Mike (lodge Mike) has become something of a bitch hasn't he?
