Re: Star Wars

http://www.wired.com/2015/11/george-lucas-jar-jar-video/ Here's a short but somewhat interesting video about George Lucas explaining where he is now in his career, and his reluctance to deal with audience expectations. I definitely get that sense just from gauging reactions to various works of visu...

Re: Music, Music, Music!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey there FauxOwl! it was the Relics studio version. Cool... all versions are good including the live at Pompeii version. Once I was asked what I'd do if I had a time machine and being that I wouldn't want to reek havoc with the time space continuum, I said I'd go back and watch Floyd perform "...

Re: Spoiler seeking

Speculation is not spoilers. There seems to be a pretty loose definition of what is a spoiler here. The notion that one's own personal speculation may be a spoiler is actually kind of flighty, but I digress... it's The Spoiling Dead thing that really prompted this thread, as the group openly champio...

Re: Spoiler seeking

Ok... it seems the Twin Peaks spoilers are minor so far. The Spoiling Dead people seem to want the big stuff... character deaths and what not. I just think back to all the great surprises I've had watching film and television and can't imagine how much less effective it would be if I'd learned about...

Spoiler seeking

I admit I've been largely unaware that spoiler seeking is a trending phenomenon among fans of various fictional franchises. That the Washington shoot of the new Twin Peaks series became a tourist attraction seemed unusual, but I've recently become aware that this has been happening on the Georgia se...

Re: How will the new Twin Peaks be received?

I bet the Gold Box, Entire Mystery, and streaming numbers were good enough to make people interested. Plus the pop cultural buzz about the new season will hopefully drive interested newbies toward Netflix and Hulu. That's going to be part of it obviously, but there will be a certain number of brand...

Re: How will the new Twin Peaks be received?

From the perspective of the general public, I'm wondering how many brand new viewers there will be, and will they be able to follow the series? I imagine that had to be a consideration picking up 25 years later. Not that the history of the show and unresolved cliffhangers would not carry over, but h...

Re: Star Wars

Good write up there... I agree with many of your points. Initially when Rian Johnson's involvement was announced, I thought it was a good sign. His career has been distinctly independent, his work has been varied, and he's an inspired choice to put together a genre picture. He will be the solo write...

Star Wars

It's hard to avoid all the hoopla of late, and I've got to admit I'm starting to get caught up in it. Part of it is because I decided to introduce my niece and nephew to the original trilogy after I acquired the "de specialized" HD transfers (I figured if they were going to see it they sho...

She directed the most recent episode and it was definitely one of the best of the series so far.

All you need to know about the difference between season 1 and 2: see "Beasts of No Nation". In a movie theater if you can, though it's also on Netflix.

Re: Where can I find a good Twin Peaks hoodie?

I've been wanting to find a good "The Owls are not what they seem" t shirt for a while.... there are a few online but I haven't seen one with a design I like.
