Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I think I will be okay if Annie doesn't exist at all in the new series. I think Annie going backwards in time and telling Laura to write stuff in her diary probably restructured the continuity slightly. So now in the Pilot, Cooper gets Laura's diary and reads an entry about himself, and the whole in...

Re: Our abandoned, unofficial Season Three comic (!)

I love the bit about Catherine running for mayor and trying to install Dick as Sheriff... Catherine's character didn't have anything left to conquer after she stole Ghostwood from Ben, and Josie's death of course. And I like that you are including Sylvia Horne! I always felt like she was underutiliz...

Yeah, the trailer in the woods screamed "Harry" to me as well.

Re: Season 3 Opening scene speculation

As for the first proper scene, I've daydreamed about Laura Palmer's diary turning up at some kind of creepy serial killer memorabilia swap meet, someone seeing "The good Dale is in the Lodge and he can't get out" scribbled in it, and that kicking off the whole thing. I really do wonder ho...

If they are recasting BOB i'd guess Robert Knepper.

Re: The Packard Mill

It's interesting that Ben thought he needed to torch the sawmill in order to build Ghostwood Estates... wasn't there a ton of unused forest he could've knocked down for his development? Unless it was state/federal protected land, then maybe Catherine owned the bulk of private land in the area, and t...

Re: Characters you are most worried for (S3)

Donna is the character I'm actually least worried about. For some reason I imagine Ashley Judd is playing her. I'm the most worried about Ben. As diabolical and nasty as his character could be, he had these amazing scenes just brimming with a lust for life. The sandwich scene, he and Jerry dancing w...

Re: Episode 17

Just watched this episode as part of a re-watch building up to the new series. This episode, and Leland's wake in general, are somewhat problematic for several reasons others have already brought up. But two things really jumped out at me during this ep: -Audrey is working for her dad at the hotel, ...

The shot of the Palmer house is very eerie. Why does Sarah have all of the lights on like that? Assuming she lives alone, assuming she even lives in the same house.

Re: The Ring

I've had a pet theory that the little boy and the monkey are both aspects of Jeffries, like that's how he appears in the Lodge. Don't forget that the monkey's face appears behind the mask that the little boy had been wearing. The fact that the monkey hides behind a mask early in the film, then appe...

I'm actually not 100% certain that it is Bowie's voice. It sounded a lot like Bowie to me.

Re: The Ring

I think it's interesting that Phillip Jeffries makes such a big deal to tell us that he's not gonna talk about Judy, but by the end of the film, a monkey with his voice utters "Judy", as if now he's finally ready to speak on the subject.

Re: The Ring

I've struggled to make since of the ring ever since watching FWWM in 2002. Now I'm at the point where it makes a degree of sense to me, at least on an emotional or personal level, but watching The Missing Pieces really threw me a monkey wrench with that nurse taking that ring at the end... My only g...

Re: Why does he smash his head into the mirror?

I've always viewed the final shot of Twin Peaks as sort of a call back to that first scene of the pilot, where Josie looks at herself in the mirror and applies makeup. A big theme of the show is the deceptive nature of appearances, the power of lies. Josie seems content with her mirror image, almost...

Re: Funniest moment in the series

Shelly's reenactment of Laura's funeral with a napkin holder, hands down.

Second place tie between Albert's reaction to Big Ed saying "Well, and then I shot her eye out" and Bobby Briggs' "Afraid? Afraid? I'm going to turn it upside down!"
