Re: The Lyrics of Season 3

At the end of the day in a dream that's divine (!) And the Woodsman puts everyone to sleep in Part 8. Even though it doesn't have any lyrics, I'll throw in Sleep Walk at the end of Part 7. Did anyone figure out what music was playing over it at the end? I still wonder if Diane's part in Part 18 was...

Re: Parts 1 & 2 - My log has a message for you & The stars turn and a time presents itself (SPOILERS)

The way Cooper disappears after the Fireman says "You are far away" is exactly how Laura's body disappears after history is altered. It makes me wonder if Cooper's sudden disappearance from the Fireman's Home is actually him being erased from that timeline. I think a poster somewhere on t...

Re: How would Lynch/Frost tackle Season Four?

But in the end I think that the idea of The Return is that looking back to the past isn't beneficial...unless of course you think the ending is a happy one, which I'm actually open to. But what we see is that Cooper meddles with the past and erases all that we hold dear, and seems to wind up worse ...

Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)

It reminds me of the frog-bug from Episode 8.

Re: Timelines

Thought the comparison between Cooper meeting Laura's doppelgänger in the original run and the trucker's confrontation with Sarah Palmer was interesting. Also, I completely missed that the statue wasn't there in Episode 18, but my guess is it's because Coop was going in the opposite direction in the...

Re: What's your favourite scene from The Return?

- Cooper seeing Laura in the Red Room after 25 years. I don't think I took a breath during that scene. I couldn't believe this moment I had been waiting for over 25 years was actually happening. Also, the crowd parting for Audrey's Dance and "I am the FBI." And every scene from Episode 8. ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Ha, ha - wasn't aware I was trying to "prove" anything -- just responding to a very thoughtful post that I really enjoyed and has caused me to look at Ep. 18 in a whole new way. People have noted the Vertigo influences going all the way back to the original series . . . and DKL's decision ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

And there's also DKL's decision to use one of the real life owners of the "Palmer" house as opposed to an actress, as well as the throwback to the driving scene from Vertigo - a movie about a man trying to recreate a woman that never existed.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I actually thought if it was going to go in this direction, it should have been both Audrey and Diane. Like after he left the Lodge and is in the clearing, it’s Audrey... they go on the car ride. She sees Diane outside the motel. The sex scene changes faces or alternates... then we’d be saying this...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

The more time passes, the more I do wish it had been Audrey in Episode 18. - Lots of thoughtful discussion above about the decision to use Diane, and I don't disagree with it, but to me Audrey's character would have been more impactful. I don't know that it's necessarily a choice between reality and...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

- Late to this thread as I just got the blu-Ray yesterday, but I thought it was interesting that DKL tells the receptionist at the radio station when the Woodsman places his hand on her head, she feels his pain. - Also took note of DKL's description to KM about what's happening with the clock and th...

Re: Theories & Speculation (SPOILERS)

Apologies if anyone else posted this in a different thread, but I thought I would play with the address numbers on Carrie's home since there were a couple of other interesting dates found with Dougie's address and I think the other was with the 1-1-9 lady. Carrie's address is 1-5-1-6. Reversed, it's...

Re: Did Cooper really fail? Was Laura really supposed to die?

I haven't seen the movie or read the novel yet, but I feel like The Little Girl that Lived Down the Lane may have more significance to TR than just a line DKL threw in and had repeated by a couple of characters. If the story was about a young girl that killed most of the characters who entered her &...

Re: Did Cooper really fail? Was Laura really supposed to die?

I like where your head’s at, Hester, although I’m not crazy about your idea that the Laura scene was repeated solely for the audience’s benefit. The Red Room scenes were carefully re-edited between the Part 2 version and the Part 17 version. Are people generally aware that some of the “repeated” fo...

Re: Did Cooper really fail? Was Laura really supposed to die?

OMG, my head hurts :) You’re onto something, and the idea of (a) Cooper not knowing that Laura is dead is mindblowing. I think that with lots of patience, coffee, donuts, and resilience we should begin listing Cooper’s deals in TP:TR trying later to build a sort of timeline, removing Dougie from th...
