Re: General Discussion on the New Series (All Opinions Welcome)

I'm not sure if this article has been mentioned yet, but there is some good stuff here. I think John Thorne is interviewing the author for the next issue of Blue Rose Magazine: http://politicsslashletters.org/dreamer-twin-peaks-return/ Great article - will need to read it a few more times to captur...

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

A coworker and I were discussing the Timmy Westphall Universe today ( you’re welcome ), and I noted that according to the site, the closest TP has had to a crossover is a mention on Fringe that a character is friends with Jacoby. However, that reminded me that I’ve read Russ Tamblyn played a charac...

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

I think there's a very conscious element at play. If it's not exactly about reclaiming the show, specifically, it's always struck me as very consciously about the dangers of wanting to dig back into the past. For the first time I see the potential meta-textual element of Cooper looking back at Laur...

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

The fact that it ends with Laura screaming also hearkens, to me, Fire Walk With Me. As was being said there, more or less, "underneath the lovable series, there is this," the house and the scream seem to be saying, '"coming back again, despite however curvy and long the ride, it is t...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread

Was reading about the Trinity test site and thought this was interesting:

"The desert sand, largely made of silica, melted and became a mildly radioactive light green glass which was named trinitite."

Apparently, some of it was sold to mineral collectors and even made into jewelry.

Re: Nowhere to Go...but Home!

Interesting connection to make. In the original show, Dale tells Audrey that what he needs and what he wants are two different things — implicitly rejecting “want.” Is it an important step in Dale’s journey “home” for Mr. C (who embodies his “wanting”) to take control out in the world for awhile? I...

Re: Nowhere to Go...but Home!

I think that ties into some of the earlier Wizard of Oz references on the the thread. The end of Ep. 17 definitely has a Wizard of Oz feel to it when Cooper says goodbye to everyone in the Sheriff's Department, so what is Cooper's home? Do you think Lynch is referring to home in a more spiritual sen...

Re: The Random Twin Peaks Thread

Was reading some of the discussion on the Room to Dream thread, and I wonder if there was some weird subconscious influence on Frost and Lynch when they wrote Cooper going back in time and resurrecting Laura. It's almost like a metaphor for reclaiming/resurrecting the show and rewriting what sounds ...

Love it. He seems custom-made for Twin Peaks.

This is fun - it's like the Season 4 draft pool. :D

Re: What actors/actresses would you like to see in a season 4..?

I might spontaneously develop cancer if Jared Leto was on the show. LOL - Maybe he could just make a brief appearance as Dr. Jacoby's long lost son and you could turn away from the tv for the ten minute monologue . The man locks would have to go, though. Regarding the original cast, I echo ev...

Re: Theories & Speculation

To add a little more about Benjamin Franklin's kite experiment, here's some amusing Peaksy wording: A house key belonging to Benjamin Loxley was attached to the hemp string and connected to a Leyden jar; a silk string was attached to this. "At this key he charged phials, and from the electric ...

Re: What's next? What chance do think there is we will see a season 4?

I'm not going to lie, I was disappointed to read some of the political comments in the interview. I realize he's not endorsing or supporting anyone and he says he's not a very political person, but still . . . I'm glad I love Lynch for his film work, and not wherever he lands on the political spectr...

Re: Theories & Speculation

Isn't it weird? When the show was airing, in the context of Cooper's life possibly being a dream, that key jumped out at me more than anything, but not even because of the slogan. Something just felt so strange about it. For whatever reason, it seemed to represent or symbolize a different kind of k...

Re: Theories & Speculation

e e, . . . the slogan on the Great Northern Key . . . I don't know why that never jumped out at me before, but that's right - "Clean Place, Reasonably Priced," is what Cooper says he is looking for in a hotel to Harry Truman from the original series - it shouldn't be on the back of the ke...
