Re: Black Lodge/White Lodge mythology
Now, where is the "epiphany?" It doesn't change a single bit if "we" know that Frost reads occult books. It does not provide any better understanding of the story Lynch/Frost depicted in TP, does it? For instance, what tells the book about a normal human being becoming an "...

Re: Black Lodge/White Lodge mythology
That said, I stumbled today (through the TP wiki) upon the writings of Kenneth Grant, who evidently was the first to inject extraterrestrials into Thelema, and also postulated that only the Self truly exists, with the rest of reality being an illusory projection (if Grant literally means that this ...

Re: Billy and Charlie
It hasn't. This is another in the long line of "Sonny Jim is blinking backwards!" things that people are imagining. I'm pretty sure that he does blink backwards, though. It doesn't have to mean much other than contributing to things feeling off, but it really does seem like he's blinking ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I think this articulates well as to why its never stated why Cooper wants to find Judy

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Satisfied Support Group (SPOILERS)
I see not evidence for Dougie dying after barfing up the Garmonbozia. As you point out, Mr.C eventually does the same thing and also passes out. He seems a bit weird the next time we see him (in the jail cell), but he doesn't seem dead - and there are no woodsmen dancing around doing Shaman rituals...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
This is how I put it together, though feel free to add your interpretations. Basically I think what happened was Cooper went with intention of going undercover and bringing down the bad guys (shown as Dougie uncovering the mole in the insurance company), BUT then he got corrupt (as shown by Dougie b...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I feel like what Mr. C wants is never defined out right because it's the same thing Cooper wants, as it's his own desires. In Part 18, Cooper goes to Judy's looking for Carrie's address, another version of coordinates. Mr. C wants to find the Ace of Spades, and asks Jeffries who is Judy. Gordon says...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)
I don't think Mr. C was ever suppose to be Cooper's 'archenemy' He represents Cooper's will/desire, a part of Cooper. That's why he is not an all out superhero villain. Cooper: “What I need and what I want are two different things, Audrey.” Mr. C: “I don’t need anything, Ray. I want.” If we take Mr...

Re: Billy and Charlie
I'm also of the opinion that Phyllis Hastings was possessed by a Woodsman, as suggested by the appearance of the Woodsman near hear husband's holding cell, and Mr. C's cryptic comments to her (something about her imitating human nature? Can't remember the specific quote). Also, I imagine that the w...

Re: Billy and Charlie
When a Shaman is in a trance (alternating between various levels of consciousness) he will bleed from the nose and mouth. In the original series, Cooper likened Phillip/Mike to a 'Seer or Shaman Priest'

Re: Billy and Charlie
I see the drunk in the jail is to Chad as Dougie is to Mr. C, both the drunk and Dougie mimic everything others say, but we don't get to see Dougie and Mr. C interact.

Re: Billy and Charlie
It only occurred to me recently whilst rewatching the third season, that both Billy and Charlie are slang names for drugs...Speed and Cocaine, respectively. It was when Audrey spoke the line “I prefer Billy” that it clicked. I assume this must be an intentional reference, but I don’t know what leve...

Re: Billy and Charlie
There's also this description of the third Bardo. Sound familiar? In the third bardo the soul encounters the Lord of Death, a fearsome demonic deity who appears in smoke and fire, and subjects the soul to a Judgment. If the dead person protests that he has done no evil, the Lord of Death holds up be...

Re: Billy and Charlie
This is actually amazing, and I had no idea. What's equally interesting is that I was going to start a thread on these names as well. I don't wish to derail this one, but since mine was going to be called nearly the same thing, I'll post it here. Has anybody attempted to try to link each of the nam...
