Re: Best Plot Twist in The Return
Although it was incorporated as a flashback in Part 17, there was a scene in the episode that made sense of what seemed like a minor and insignificant mystery that had originated in FWWM. The flashback footage from FWWM where James & Laura are pulled over on the side of the road near the woods, ...

Re: Does Between Two Worlds indicate Lynch had different plans for S3?
Every time someone mentions Between Two Worlds in reference to Twin Peaks I mistakenly think of the 1944 Warner Brothers film by the same name: _oZCdCkm1f8 Between Two Worlds In London during World War II, married couple Henry (Paul Henreid) and Ann Bergner (Eleanor Parker) decide to commit suicide ...

Re: Numerology in TP:TR (spoilers)
Doesn’t the Jeffries machine generate an infinity symbol which is also a number 8 facing sideways? Depending on the font/typeface used, most number 8's are one smaller circle resting atop the slightly larger circle. The usual depiction of the infinity symbol is symmetric both vertically and horizon...

Re: General Discussion on Season 3 (All Opinions Welcome)
So I was flipping through my copy of Sex & Rockets: The Occult World of Jack Parsons the other day, and I came across an interesting passage of relevance. It appeared on page 112, after 20 pages or so of an historic overview of John Dee & Sir Edward Kelly's tale of how they came to possess t...

Re: Black Lodge/White Lodge mythology
I was also also perplexed by the concept of the doppelgänger in The Return. It led me to reflect on the last episode of Season 2 where we see a doppelgänger for BOB and one for Laura. And we see Diane's doppelgänger in Part 18 when they arrive at the motel, and I've always thought initially that Dop...

Re: Black Lodge/White Lodge mythology
Of potential interest to those who are into the Theosophy elements of the show: traditionally, Mark is most associated with those elements of TP, and I’ve been vocally skeptical that Lynch has any interest in them. However, in the category of eating my hat (or at least a small piece of it), Lynch r...

Re: What's your favourite scene from The Return?
At the moment, my favorite scene is where Sarah takes her face off at the bar (and subsequently rips out that guy’s esophagus). Second favorite has to be when Andy is in the White Lodge with the Fireman. The smoke wisps played in reverse were such a nice touch from Lynch. And Frost’s brilliance shin...

Re: Sarah’s smile of darkness
Ah, I just checked and you are correct about it being the ring finger. It’s also a left hand... possibly alluding to the left handed path. To me, that hand implies the presence of someone who met their fate while wearing the ring. Maybe Judy/Laura are contradicting manifestations of the same entity?...

Re: Sarah’s smile of darkness
To be perfectly honest, I never got the impression that the darkened smile was resampled from any of the characters. That being said, I did find the commentary in that Reddit thread to be thought provoking. If I was forced to accept the theory that the darkened smile was borrowed from a preexisting ...

Re: Ray/Phillip Jeffries storyline
Maybe he did call Ray? He never says that he spoke to Ray, only that he called him. Right? That doesn't mean he's been in contact with Mr. C, and since we never hear who Ray is talking to on the phone after he shoots Mr. C, we can only assume. I think the line Ray has at the farm where he says that ...

Re: Ray/Phillip Jeffries storyline
That is some really constructive thinking there Mr. Reindeer. Personally, I've always assumed that Ray was never actually in contact with the real Phillip Jeffries. I like to think that Major Briggs was impersonating Jeffries (with the help of the FIreman) in order to either - kill Mr. C - or - subv...

Grant undoubtedly is a heavyweight in the field of the Occult, particularly when it comes to Crowley's OTO. But the reality is that Crowley himself was the first person to inject his Thelema into UFOlogy with his depiction of LAM. https://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/cienciareal/cienciareal08.htm http...

Xavi and Isis Unveiled, perhaps you should start a Woke Thread where you can liberate yourselves from the lazy and unaware? You know, I was just starting to think that my case to be made really deserves a thread of its own. I've answered the OP's question about the origin of the lodges. Instead if ...
