Re: The biggest problem with The Return - the fear/mystery element largely missing?

For me, The Return lacked the gravitation pull of all three of the forces present in the original Twin Peaks: Lynch, Frost, and the limitations of broadcast television. Those limitations are what made those creepy scenes mentioned by the OP even creepier, because our imaginations took over when ther...

Mine's arriving tomorrow. Can't wait.

I just realized I have every DVD iteration of Twin Peaks, including a region 0 DVD of the pilot that is a bit dubious. I think it's PAL because everyone's voice is slightly high pitched.

I just got a shipping notice on mine. Wheeeeee. I was hoping to have a 4K TV by the time it shipped, but Mrs. Celine put the kibosh on that, so I'll watch it on my 13yr old LCD instead, hehe.

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

I'm not even factoring in the ending, which to me is hard to see as anything but almost soul-crushingly despondent/Tragic (the Waggish piece is well-written but doesn't convince me otherwise). But the whole worldview as expressed by TR just seems to me very dour. Yes there's wackiness and fun and g...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

Just started the Bts was sad to find out all the titles were part of the 5 hours I thought they were all separate features but still amazed but agree the art pieces feel out of place and dudes voice is just annoying but worth it for what I've seen so far. Jerrys mandolin scene alone was worth the p...

Re: Twin Peaks: Season 3 on Blu-ray 12/5/17

I started with the BTS stuff. The pieces with the narration are pretentious twaddle. I wish there was a way to just watch the actual BTS footage. The "art" pieces seem like they are trying too hard. The show is artistic enough!

Re: Mark Frost AMA on Reddit 11/8 @ 10 AM Pacific

I'm never quite sure answers this vague and deflecting are truly because they want to leave it up to the reader, or whether it's just something they haven't thought of. Probably a bit of both I imagine.

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31 (SPOILERS)

Yeah, considering much of this was excised from Secret History and then majorly padded out with "file folders" and black pages, it was hardly worth the money I paid. (But honestly, at least it wasn't very much). We did get confirmation that the girl in Los Alamos was Sarah, so at least the...

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31 (SPOILERS)

Reading this book made me think that the more glaring mistakes in Secret History were actually just clumsy errors by Frost. The "explanations" are too convoluted.

I thought the Trump reference was very dumb, but it seems like the kind of thing that would amuse Frost.

I can recommend both of the Conan Doyle books. The List of Seven and The Six Messiahs. The second book is a bit weaker than the first, but I still liked them both a lot. Frankly, I wish he'd write a third one.

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)

If Frost does a book tour, someone should raise their hand and say "I have a question for Mark" and then just get up and leave. See how he likes it. It's funny 'cause it's true. It might be funny if he would give a crap. And he wouldn't. I dunno man, the times I've met him, he's been pret...

Re: Mark Frost's Contributions to TP:TR (Speculation)

I have read Frost's two Conan Doyle books. I don't recall anything really that tied into Twin Peaks. The first book was more like Penny Dreadful in tone. The second book was a lot like Carnivale in tone. (just to put it into TV terms). I have not read his Paladin Prophecy books, nor any of his sport...

What if Linda is Diane's child? Linda Evans!? (Sorry couldn't resist, plus if the real Diane has been blinded and silenced and hidden in nonexistence all this time, she couldn't have given birth).
