Re: Peaks Fans Top 10 TV shows

Responding to discussion a page or so back: Yeah, I like the US Office and all, but the UK one really is something else; it managed even to be genuinely successful in emotional effect.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Yeah, for chrissakes, please not another home media release. I'm not even through the extra stuff from Z to A (I'm at part 12, Chrysta Bell trapdooring from up the floor super funny btw) and if I buy another one, my husband will go BOB on me.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Personally I would want a continuation on Netflix if possible. Netflix would provide Lynch with the budget he needs with no artistic restrictions. Also it would help get Twin Peaks to a wider audience . Netflix's business model is not creator-friendly, though. Based on their algorithms, in terms of...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Matisse_paper.jpg Yup! James Joyce got so frail he had a hired at-hand transcriber at his bedside, and for certain things he felt he had to write himself, used bright crayons on large pieces of paperboard because his vision was so poor. Kafka was writing a piece as he was dying of pneumonia about a...

Re: Lynch's short "What Did Jack Do?" now on Netflix

It could be that he has other shorts he wants to add. There's only one other one I know about that hasn't been released, "Pozar," an animation he did to music from the co-author of Polish Night Music.

Re: Thoughts about The Return story arc

Gordon Cole mentions that he, Cooper, Garland Briggs, and Phillip Jeffries had a plan on how to find and presumably defeat Judy. That of course is a sign of an altered reality as there could be no such plan in the linear track of time that we know. These individuals were never together at the same ...

Re: SPOILERS: Inconsistencies in the Secret History of Twin Peaks

Just a thought I wanted to add concerning grey aliens that we see in this book yet not so much in the series. I think it was in the show, actually. The description of the alien that is seen verifiably by a character and described to us is very, very similar to the Experiment as we see it in Part 1....

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

It's difficult not being hopeful when you hear this though: https://twitter.com/i/status/1227652057894719488 Hearing this for myself, it kind of sounds less that he's keeping anything secret, and more that it's an honest, snap re-appraisal of the franchise as it stands. And he's saying something I ...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

About the Oscars thread derailment (sorry, I read it and have to put in my piece), speaking as a minority, it hurts to be ignored, and it hurts to have any of your achievements revoked, considered as not being genuine because they're perceived as someone else's guilty over-compensation. There's no w...

I could open the link, thanks, it's a FB post by Lynchland that just dates it 2016 without further detail. Anyway, wow, I totally forgot how long ago he had first mentioned it.

Anyone recall when this was filmed? I wonder if it was to let off steam post-TP, the gargantuan undertaking that it was.

Re: Peaks Fans Top 10 TV shows

My introduction was actually channel surfing and on IFC (back when they were waaay better) the Lynch 1 doc was playing. I had been shown the Red Room scene by a theater friend, and looking back after the fact, it was obvious how integral TP and Lynch were as inspiration for many things I already lik...

Re: LMFAP original season 3 script page!

I think maybe the original idea was an unnerving symmetry. This is done also in The Missing Pieces - the trio of scenes where LMFAP repeats the line of returning home. But I'm glad we got what we did, too. Mike's repetition of his Fire Walk With Me poem is, and this is the real risk of the idea of r...

Re: Peaks Fans Top 10 TV shows

Not a TV show per se, but I was just reminded of David Firth’s intermittent web series of animated shorts, Salad Fingers. He has cited Lynch as an influence, and I absolutely adore the weirdly sad, hilarious, disturbing world he has created. I've been a big fan of Firth for a long time. He was basi...
