Re: Conversations With Mark Frost: Twin Peaks, Hill Street Blues, and the Education of a Writer
I would also love to know exactly how differently S3 turned out vs. what Lynch & Frost originally scripted. There are hints of it (like the Richard & Linda stuff) in the book, but I'd love to get a better sense. And what Frost thought of how it turned out vs. how he had imagined it when they...

Re: Conversations With Mark Frost: Twin Peaks, Hill Street Blues, and the Education of a Writer
The book is just wonderful. Where David is often quite elusive and cryptic, Mark comes off as really intelligent, articulate and urbane. (Nothing against Lynch, of course, but he's not exactly the world's best interviewee.) Mark is more candid here than I've ever seen/heard him; and while he's still...

Wiseguy - the "Lynchboro arc"
Question for you guys about a bit of very old business. On cable the other day, I noticed that they were airing the first episode of the Wiseguy "Lynchboro" arc from early 1990, which I'd always heard about but had never seen. Upon watching, I was pretty struck by how eerily prescient it i...

Agreed, also in the way that they're structured. How it's all meant to be its own "movie" of sorts, but it also feels sort of disparate and disconnected, like TP:TR feels.Soolsma wrote:TMP are possibly even more tonally similar.

The demo is just gorgeous. Will they be doing a digital release of the EP too, for those of us without record players, I hope??

Re: What's next? What chance do think there is we will see a season 4?
I think it's unlikely. Not only did Lynch seem sort of definitive at the Emmy event a few weeks ago that this was "the ending," but I also got the sense (he didn't say this outright, I'm just inferring) that it would be hard for him to see going back into this world without Miguel Ferrer, ...

One year later - how are we feeling?
I'm curious, now that it's a year since TP:TR aired, has anyone's feelings changed? Now that we're a ways away from all of hype, the excitement and the anticipation, has the time and distance made you love it more? Hate it more? See it in a different light? I only ask because I know that I certainly...

Re: What have Lynch been up to for the last year?
He's also been working on a memoir/biography of sorts called Room to Dream, that will be published next month. Not aware of any new film or TV projects, though. It sounds like he's mostly been just painting and doing his own thing. I think making Twin Peaks: The Return was a MASSIVE, Herculean task ...

Re: New Johnny Jewel album of unused/unreleased TP score
Interesting how very much music he composed for S3 (esp compared to Angelo, at least as far as we know), but also how little of it was actually used. I wonder if Lynch either asked for a bunch of score and then decided he preferred the drama to play out without it except for a few key places, or if ...

New Johnny Jewel album of unused/unreleased TP score
If TP:TR has made you a fan of Johnny Jewel's (it certainly did for me), he just dropped a surprise new album tonight to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the premiere of S3. It's entitled "Themes for Television" and seems to consist of tracks culled from the 6 hours+ of music he c...

Re: Visiting "Twin Peaks" First Time
I can't speak to the question about Rainier/Olympic, but in terms of TP sights, I'd also check out the "Welcome to Twin Peaks" sign spot (which is close to Ronette's bridge) and also the Sheriff's office (aka the Dirtfish Rally School); they're really great about letting fans in and taking...

Re: How Lynch Got Bowie for FWWM
That's so interesting, thanks for sharing this! I'd never heard this story before. For some reason I had always been under the impression that Bowie, as a fan, asked about having a small role in the film; I didn't realize they had pursued him.

Re: POLL - Do you Like Season Three and How long have you been watching twin peaks.
I mostly love Season 3, though not unconditionally; there are certainly bits I found frustrating and indulgent, to be sure, and I'm sure there's a tighter/leaner version of the show that probably could have been made, as much as I loved savoring every minute of it when it was airing. It certainly wa...

Frost & Lynch nowadays
What do we think the deal is in terms of Mark Frost and David Lynch's relationship these days? I just find it odd that there was very little mention of (and no appearance from) Mark Frost at the Emmy event last week, and he and Lynch have seemed very separate ever since the new series aired. Frost s...

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31 (SPOILERS)
I think TFD is definitely a lot more satisfying in terms of pure, straightforward, unabashed fan-service than TSOTP was. TFD scratches the itch I had to find out what the hell happened to all of these characters that I love so dearly over the past 25 years (given that, let's be honest, S3 didn't rea...
