Re: One year later - how are we feeling?

I don't see anything careful and planned in the awful way of keeping Harry Truman around through use of a hokey plot device that is some mysterious illness that makes him impossible to be seen, just "heard" through telephone calls, and in the even more awful way of filling the void of his ...

Re: How would Lynch/Frost tackle Season Four?

I don't think Lynch/Frost will ever let anyone who isn't them touch the property again, and that's fine. Since they're so possessive of their franchise (and I'm not denying them their right to be that way), it's really weird how they - and Showtime - apparently don't have any problems with certain ...

Re: What's next? What chance do think there is we will see a season 4?

But seriously, I always thought this was going to be one season and out. But now I see that Lynch and Frost were probably planning multiple seasons all along, they just didn't want to face 'cancellation' once again. And the grounds for your claim would be ... what, exactly? As far as I know, nothin...

Re: How would Lynch/Frost tackle Season Four?

Would a S4 happen, I'm pretty sure they would want to incorporate at least some throwbacks to the originals, since they obviously like to keep things intertwined all the way throughout. A list of people, places and things from the originals that remained (mostly) untouched during S3 which could be ...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Dear Mr. Reindeer - always so gracious and insightful. You once again nailed it with your speculation about the nature of my "Santa Claus" post - that is exactly what I meant. Reading your and some of the other S3 lovers' (Needleman's, for instance) comments about the season, I'm almost co...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

You're darn tootin'. We folks who didn't like the new season simply didn't get it, those of ya folks that liked it, on the other hand, did. It's that simple.

Re: No Ray Wise?

That's actually a pretty good question. I'd place my bet on the fact that this sad sack of a "return" show was Twin Peaks in-name-only and had next to nothing to do with characters, storylines, ideas, themes and concepts, developed by in every way superior original masterpiece.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Well, I am going to try, as best I can, to depart dupga.com for a while, partly because I need to focus on some other things, and partly because I want to forget about TP:TR for a few months, so I can finally marathon it in the full 18 hour watch someday. Whether you enjoyed immensely or intensely ...

Re: Ray/Phillip Jeffries storyline

I agree that there are a lot of plot holes in this story. But to be honest, I don't think they matter all that much. It pretty much goes with the territory. Almost anytime you create this huge, complex narrative, the plot holes become inevitable. Since 99.9% of the audience either doesn't catch the...

Re: Kyle MacLachlan sounding far less optimistic about more Twin Peaks

Meh. The way I'm feeling right now - and have been since the summer ended, basically -, I couldn't care less if it goes one way or the other. As far as I'm concerned, if The Return succeeded in anything, it was in turning off my practically life-long craving for more things Twin Peaks. Who'd have th...

Sorry, I don't get this - have you checked the other 345 threads on the Dugpa forum? They're all populated by gushing fans with nothing but praise for the new season and its creators.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

No I wasn't saying it doesn't matter. Serious criticism of a tv show or film is important. The fact that this nasty whole 'Support Group' thread is nothing of the sort but now just a haven for misogynistic nastiness tells me all I need to know! And yet you're still here ... You sound like a member ...
