Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I'm assuming the "Lynch discarded the script" theory stems from Episode 29, where that did indeed happen. There's no evidence that that happened here, though, and the key difference is that Lynch is credited as 50% cowriter on the entire series, whereas on Episode 29 he was returning afte...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Sadly, at the end of the day, despite all the gushing critical reviews and praise- The Return will largely not be remembered by anyone with the exception of Twin Peaks fans and hardcore Lynch lovers- the world has already moved on to their next show- Heck, I moved on before The Return even ended an...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

here we go again :/ David Lynch was more of a name and at the top of his game by 1992 when FWWM was mercilessly slammed by critics and the Cannes crowd. it's unfathomable to you and some others that people can actually like this so they must be wrapped in a dilusion. as i said before, that's a fuck...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Hi there, long time lurker, first time poster. English is not my native language, so be advised. ;) I think I started reading this thread the first time after watching episode 3 and 4. Since then I enjoyed every film of David Lynch (except Eraserhead which I never saw and IE, which I consider a mes...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I'm aware of the separate gender thread but I still would like to mention here that the blatant misogyny has been unbearable in TR even by cable show and overall problematic Lynch standards. Older women are ridiculous nagging caricatures, younger ones are naked and lingerie-clad victims offered up ...

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31

I think the Flatiron is the US printing and Macmillan the UK printing. There should be no difference in content. Yeah, I figured that was going to be the major difference, but the different page number was intriguing. Pretty sure I got the Flatiron edition last time, and was happy with it. So that ...

Re: 'Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier' Novel by Mark Frost 10/31

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but looking at ordering the book and there are two versions available on the site I am using (Book Depository); one published by Flatiron with 176 pages, one by Macmillan with 160 pages. Both hardback, similar page sizes, slightly different prices obvio...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I am not saying Frost in blameless in any of this but it is very clear that this more Lynch than Frost but I am annoyed by posters and fans who keep just calling this Lynch's show - it was never just Lynch's show. No-no, I agree with you on the part it's not just Lynch's show - Freddie, the numerol...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Can I please point out that Twin Peaks was never just Lynch. This just infuriates me that some people keep talking as if this was a solo venture (which the The Return turned out to be). If Lynch wanted to make his own show he should have done that and not used the Twin Peaks name. BTW, about that. ...

Seriously, how clueless can you be???? Ah, well, at least it'll keep me LOL-ing throughout the night, that's fo' sure! :D thats pretty condescending. I think he asked a valid question about how you would be satisfied, what kind of S3 would you rather have? When I browse through this thread where pe...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

In the Part 18 thread they are now discussing that 'the Mother' was seen in the window of the Palmer house just before Carrie screams. I have looked at the photo and I honestly cannot see anything - what am i missing? Or are these just the last few straws people are grabbing on to?

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

This return has proved that Twin Peaks needed Network intervention. I loved reading in Brad Dukes book and the many interviews in WIP about how the writers had to find inventive ways to imply things without using upfront language. Instead we got Audrey Horne f'ing and blinding. That did not make sen...
