Re: What Other Directors/Actors Think of Season 3

Those dudes whined a lot and I got a couple of my friends mad at me for saying I didn't care what they thought. #dontcare My response to people using critics as their basis of an argument in favour or against something is to quote: ‘Howard Roark laughed.’ One has to make one’s own opinion based on ...

Re: What Other Directors/Actors Think of Season 3

Outside of critics and the Twin Peaks/Lynch fandom, Twin Peaks The Return really didn't make a huge impact so I'm not surprised not many big named actors or directors have yet to chime in because they probably haven't even seen it. I would love to know what Tarantino thought of it as well as what h...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Interestingly, I could use almost the same writing if I ever wrote a cohesive review explaining why I think The Return was a failure. https://lareviewofbooks.org/article/david-lynchs-late-style/#! What makes Season 3 difficult to dismiss or just completely bash is that Lynch clearly aimed to create...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I'm gonna go ahead and speculate that this is why Ontkean pulled out of the project. Most of what happens in Twin Peaks is completely irrelevant to the story, especially the sheriff. I doubt him not participating had much if anything to do with the size or scope of the role. It just seems he didn't...

Re: New Stand-alone Parts of Twin Peaks?

Yeah I'd love to see Chris Isaak back. But I can see Showtime making a new 10 or 12 part Twin Peaks - or how about two more seasons? I think it works that you've got to have a full season - and the interest in the blu-ray coming out show that's a big part of it all too! :D

Re: New Stand-alone Parts of Twin Peaks?

Showtime want people who subscribe to them and stick around - how would that work with a short series of standalone parts? Does Showtime even have any history of doing such a thing?

Re: Final Dossier Spoilers

True cinema buffs do not need any book and they remain focused in finding convincing answers within the 18 hours lasting audio-visual limitation. The book is part of the canon - both the show itself and the book are all part of Twin Peaks. Mark Frost is a big part of it all, I don't understand what...

So does it look like Showtime aren't posting a new video today on Youtube?

Wowzer there's some really good viewpoints here on INLAND EMPIRE etc but what does any of this have to do exactly with the new Frost book? :)

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I'm sure Lynch would love to bring Twin Peaks back to Cannes and get a positive reaction unlike 1992. It even has a built in story for the press, 25 years later and all that. I hope the critics fête him and kiss his feet, then he flicks the critics the birdy and goes to a different party – one that...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

I am not familiar with this band but does anyone out there know what to make of this? Other than maybe Angelo's participation will be lessened...? http://pitchfork.com/news/49605-chromatics-and-johnny-jewel-join-the-new-twin-peaks/ Bear in mind that there's probably 18 hours of this new series and ...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

This fairly secretive marketing approach will probably work better in the long-term than lots of publicity. And this being why? I'm just talking in general, for me personally I'd like to see a 5 minute trailer. But mystery keeps things interesting, I think it keeps the more 'intrigued' audiences ou...

Re: NO SPOILERS: Twin Peaks Season 3 on Showtime May 21st 2017

Vanderohe - that depends on what you'd consider to be high ratings and how they measure that now. Once the show is up and running it will gather its own steam. Potential continuations have been given the okay, IF this is successful. But obviously they're not going to be thinking about more seasons a...

Re: Baxter

It's going to be Lynch, Frost and so on material. It's a big project. There certainly may be parts which remind people of Mulholland Dr. but like anything done by DL it will be its own thing. I'm sure it will of course be in many parts highly reminiscent of the first two seasons. Someone could easil...
