Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

Thanks for the "Dutch David Lynch" recommendation- I have to check that out! My brother lived in Amsterdam for some years and learnt Dutch, then introduced me to the early films of Paul Verhoeven. I actually think that Showgirls should be played on a double bill with Herzog's Stroszek. The...

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

One of those experiences would be Showgirls I imagine, but I remain firmly in the camp that it is a masterpiece. I was lucky enough to see it in Paris a few years back during a Paul Verhoeven retrospective, and the audience of beatniks loved it. It is a viscious takedown of American success stories,...

Re: What would a Season 4 be about?

You people are all way more imaginative than me. This idea for a 60s Twin Peaks is genius, and would solve a lot of problems about how to go forward. It could be amazing (and maddening if it sidesteps the unresolved cliffhanger rather than links to it). I don't think this is happening at all though....

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

haha- I have almost typed that fear many times, but didn't want to summon bad luck! If a new season is announced, I won't relax until we see it. Even if there is no new series, I have a suspicion that we'll get new Twin Peaks related goodness, even if it is just a late interview with Mark Frost in m...

I still think that they're working on it, but that it will take a long time. I just get that vibe.

Re: New Website for Stills & Photoshoots

I really, really love it! It's amazing to see the trailers again, etc, since it really brings back the sense of anticipation before the series aired. I had a very vivid flashback to the long wait for footage, remembering how grumpy everyone was getting with the lack of footage as the air date moved ...

Great- thanks Mordeen!

I retain some scepticism about this, but I can see where you are coming from. It did at least make me rewatch that episode last night, and I had forgotten how brilliant and mindblowing the whole thing is.

I don't see an eye! It is sort of suggestive, but could also just be a cloud pattern.

Re: No Ray Wise?

I like these ideas, but Jeffries still feels more relevant to the story to me. If it was Chet Desmond who had uttered "we live inside a dream" in FWWM, it would work, but he didn't. With Jeffries in FWWM, we see the confusion of interdimensional travel from the outside (from Cooper's and C...

Re: FWWM sequels

Yes, that closing of possibilities is a nice way to put it. I guess it really opened other possibilities as well, so we should be thankful for that. I still enjoy FWWM as the peak of Twin Peaks, it somehow feels perfect in every way to me. The Return is a different beast that I really enjoyed, but i...

Re: The slow pace of The Return

I found it much pacier when rewatching it after the bluray came out. Something about not having to wait a week for major plot developments to happen (e.g. Cooper wake up now!) made me appreciate what was happening a lot more. I had a work colleague who I tried to get into Twin Peaks, but he never ma...

Re: FWWM sequels

I liked the return, but I still have the nagging feeling that a continuation in the 90s would have been great. Something about the style of the return still makes it hard to square with being in the same universe to me. Of course, back in the day Kyle would have been out probably, so it would have b...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

The wait for news has really taught me something about bias. I've read various quotes, as have we all, and my first thought has always been "this must mean more Twin Peaks!". Then the second or third reading makes the quote seem totally innocuous. I remain convinced that it is in the works...
