Re: Angel painting in Fire Walk With Me

frahm9, I hadn't seen that Schutzengelbild DE.Wikipedia entry. I don't trust Google translate or my broken German to convey any nuances accurately. I notice that Lindberg was a pseudonym for Grossmann One of the best known examples of this kind is a also formerly widespread image of Zabateri (pseudo...

Re: Angel painting in Fire Walk With Me

Outstanding research, prophit. I agree that the other examples must be by the same artist. Not sure about Zatka though. He seems to have a better knowledge of perspective, and his painting has more contrast and detail. Zatzka painted under several pseudonyms: H. Zabateri, P. Ronsard, and J. Bernard...

Thanks to Richard Marcum for the productive Facebook exchange that led to much of this material; and to James of Obnoxious & Anonymous for starting a search with me 14 years ago. https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/v/t1.0-9/1909704_10207732752570352_7081091923306981959_n.jpg?oh=e3f...

Re: FWWM questions (probably asked before but what the hell)

I was not able to capture the full picture with screenshots that I could then color-correct and compare. I lost some off the top, but more on the bottom, including a toy truck and the carpet pattern. I can not find this style of art. I think the year is about 1923, from the haircuts and clothing. Bl...

Re: Owl Cave map (question)

I am very curious to learn who among the writers designed the Owl Cave map. I want to know about the symbols and their deepest meanings: - where they originate (Native American, Greek/Roman planetary) - what they referred back to from previous episodes - what they were meant to foreshadow - what the...

Re: Solve the Crime in Eleven Letters or Less (Ultimate Spoi

I wonder what Sam Stanley's machine is, by the way. You know - the one that cracked the Whitman case. No one else could have solved that case, because they didn't have a machine like that. Some sort of nascent technology? Perhaps Sam's machine was an interpretation of what DNA testing apparatus mig...

Re: Solve the Crime in Eleven Letters or Less (Ultimate Spoi

A palindrome is a fact, it exists or nearly exists or does not exist. No. Something is a palindrome or it is not. "Almost a palindrome" is not a thing. It's numerology applied to the alphabet. Would you call that "wordology" or "wordplay"? "Mathplay" isn't a ...

Nice to see you, Trichome - I used to read your stuff on usenet. I even gave you a back-handed compliment in a thread here years ago. Hope you're not too upset. :) You are correct, frequently crotchety would be more than fair. A forum on another topic has been the beneficiary and victim of m...
