Re: What Other Directors/Actors Think of Season 3

But the worst part to me, and this is again something I've seen elsewhere, is the idea that evil in Lynch's mythos originates, or is shown to originate, in the underclass. The fact that hobo or drifter-type archetypes are used for ominous effect is thought-terminating to some viewers, who seem more...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread

I agree with this. All of Cappy's options are interesting, but I think this sums up Cooper nicely. Leland's intent remains a tantalizing mystery, but I think I take it as 25 years of remorse. All he can do is constantly and only think of Laura, his own personal hell, which strikes me as the major p...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread

I think Cooper looks for the best in everyone (as evidenced by his “Dougie” side), and sometimes that attitude can lead to poor judgment calls. Remember how forgiving he is of Leland in E16 (the Tibetan Book of the Dead scene). I don’t think there’s anything sinister about him following Leland’s ag...

Re: The Random Season 3 Thread

I'm still not sure if Leland Palmer's request to Cooper to "Find Laura" is: or e) none of the above. We just get so little of Leland Palmer in S3, that it's really impossible to nail down his character's deal in the Red Room. He seems sad and remorseful, so that would suggest a good inten...

Re: Twin Peaks: From Z To A 12/10 & The Television Collection 10/15 Blu-Ray & DVD Sets

Does anyone know for sure if this collection is region locked or is it like the s3 box set and region free? Amazon lists s3 as region locked, but it works here in Australia on an Australian region locked player My understanding (and my experience) is that Blu Rays always tend to be region-free (i.e...

The deadpan remaining in place through the emergence of the Bob ball, the subsequent battle, and all of the bananas stuff that follows. It's just like when he's facing the blistering wrath of his wife. I thought it was interesting, and possibly more suspenseful, because Frank didn't know Cooper, so...

Re: Tarantino criticism

And for the same reason Ontkean has no lines in The Descendants? ;) Ha, wouldn't that be something! Alas, sadly, no. I agree with your points about Laura v. Tate. But I just have to say that the depiction of Tate really sat well with me, and so, like Tarantino, I'd just reject any hypothesis about ...

Re: Tarantino criticism

Wow, a lot to take in in this thread, and a lot of differing opinions. I'll keep this shortish. Vague spoilers ahead, but nothing specific. The movie is one of Tarantino's best, and his best since at least Inglourious Basterds, which is increasingly treated as one of his potential masterpieces. The ...

Re: Twin Peaks: From Z To A 12/10 & The Television Collection 10/15 Blu-Ray & DVD Sets

I'm not particularly interested in additional behind-the-scenes stuff; the tons of it we got with the Limited Series DVD/BluRay edition does it for me. It's the whole genesis process of the new show that intrigues me, especially what went on in Lynch's and Frost's heads as they've dreamt up the con...

Re: Twin Peaks: From Z To A 12/10 & The Television Collection 10/15 Blu-Ray & DVD Sets

It's unlikely this would happen, but I would love to see a feature with Frost discussing the writing process for the new season: what aspects of their original planned Season 3 in the 1990s made it into the Return; what the first draft of the Return looked like; and what they had to change when tal...

Yes, it should include everything the previous box sets included. The 4K disc is essentially a bonus.

Re: Twin Peaks: From Z To A & The Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15 & 12/10

Is anybody online friends with Sabrina? Since the set is ready to go and extras must already be in the queue, she'd probably confirm one way or the other if any deleted scenes from Season 3 are included. I DOUBT it, but it would be a lovely surprise if there are a few missing scenes that would be i...

Re: Twin Peaks: From Z To A & The Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15 & 12/10

Well, fine. Take my money, Lynch. The additional Jason S. footage, broken down by Part, sounds incredible. Wasn’t “Behind the Red Curtain” already the title of the Beymer doc, though? Is it safe to assume that the first people to preorder are guaranteed a copy, since it’s a limited edition? Not sur...

Re: Twin Peaks: The Complete Television Collection (Paramount) 10/15/19

I'm an idiot who doesn't know how to embed things, but Lynch's tweet as of 50 minutes ago is very intriguing relating to this box set, I assume. Twin Peaks From Z to A. Which makes it very odd indeed that, if it is the box set, that it wouldn't have Fire Walk With Me. https://twitter.com/DAVID_LYNCH...
