Re: The Third Day

Jess’s character “twist” was the one thing I really disliked in Summer. It felt both predictable and unearned, as well as rather nonsensical. (Why on Earth would her kids be in the Big House? Why wouldn’t her husband have them wherever he lives?) But Waterston is great and I loved Jess throughout S...

Re: The Third Day

I've been watching it in the two parts on Facebook (you can access them without being a FB user - I'm not). Very slowly due to other distractions, lol. I'm halfway through now, 3 weeks later, and hope to wrap it in the next few days and move on to Winter/Naomie Harris' section of the series. Autumn ...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I (as a freelancer, I've never been staff at Showtime) worked on the promos for Roadies. Oof.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

Every single Showtime show gets run into the ground, then a few feet under. There's nothing "prestige" about Showtime and never has been. Yes. Which is why they were bent on using Lynch and TP to re-modulate their image, something we heard about years out in press from its premiere date a...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I LOL every time Showtime brass repeat, plainly, how many subscribers TP got them and how much prestige it netted and how invaluable that was for their brand, only for people to turn around and say every six months "clearly TP was a failure for Showtime" like they don't see these interview...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I've only watched the first (Jude Law-starring) half of The Third Day so far but I can say I think it's excellent. Is the narrative that new in terms of folk horror staples, no, but it's exquisitely written, directed and performed. The reviews are frankly too harsh. And yes, I have seen the original...

Re: What did we know before?

I did hear about a floating head of Briggs, about the name Carrie Page and her being from Texas, and about an Asian woman (Naido). I'd forgotten those, but yes, I had heard that much. No context attached.

Yes, absolutely. There is zero chance that is safe here in America.

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

He is not going to green screen all of Season 4 from people's homes and film it this year. It's not going to happen.

Re: What did we know before?

I knew Janey-E's real name maybe a year beforehand. (I stayed silent when a fake name for her began circulating, and I still don't know why that happened unless someone felt like making it up to seem important.) I knew she was played by Naomi Watts, was a love interest for Cooper and had a little bo...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

From a Yahoo anniversary piece : Frost: It felt like the right place to end it, given that Cooper had kind of defied the rules to try to undo a terrible wrong, but ended up paying a terrible price himself. In terms of making more Twin Peaks, I never say never. Who would have expected us to come back...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

S3 was a major pop cultural conversation for tastemakers and top critics for all of '17 and recurring well beyond. It launched umpteen weekly thinkpieces with each episode, topped year-end lists, then decade-end lists. It's been cited by countless filmmakers and TV auteurs over and over (like the or...

Re: Season 4? Or is it over after this?

I didn't realize Britbox had censored things. That's unacceptable. I have no particular timeframe on a possible return. I never expected S3 to begin with. I'm not waiting with bated breath; if it happens, it happens. I might start being less suspicious about various statements or news in, oh, five y...
