Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Have any of the disappointed crew gone back to watch series 1 and 2 and FWWM since viewing TP3? I was wondering if it changed how you felt about them now when watching. I've decided to brave it tonight and see how it goes. Hopefully it won't feel too weird. Gonna give it a couple years I think. Thi...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Pulled this Mark Frost early 00's interview from another thread.http://www.lukeford.net/profiles/profiles/mark_frost.htm " I haven't seen it [MD]. I heard it was a mess. I knew that the pilot was a mess. David's strength and weakness is that he is often able to transcend story because he's suc...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I'm very sorry for having interrupted this wonderful thread, where disappointed "fans" can freely express their, well for the lack of a better word, frustration. This is seriously the most aggravating thing people can say to another person. Most everyone on here was a fan of the original ...

Re: Different Twin Peaks podcasts

... and TPTR, in my opinion, was never intended to be an extension of the original series -- so comparing the two is futile. That's fine. But then they shouldn't have advertised it as one. Since they did however, I expected a continuation of the original series in tone and in spirit. On a side note...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I just listened to Brad Duke's episode on part 17 and it was very cathartic to hear someone so prominent in the Twin Peaks fandom have all the same issues I have with it. Made me feel less alone, which is something other people have said about my podcast. So now I know how they feel. :) do you have...

Re: Different Twin Peaks podcasts

I hope you found it a valuable use of your time to do a podcast about a show you didn't like. Do you regret getting into this venture at all? If you did, why be upset that people might not find it a valuable use of their time to listen to it? Like I said, I didn't plan on not liking it. The origina...

Re: Different Twin Peaks podcasts

Pretty much all of my criticism was down to "personal experience". Many times I explained what I liked about the original series/how it made me feel and how the new series did the opposite of that. There are plenty of other podcasts and even board members that present their criticism with...

Re: Different Twin Peaks podcasts

The finale review of the Twin Peaks Podcast is up, and, as expected, they're mostly whining... Because we have criticism, it's whining. Alright. It's been kind of interesting to see the world of television podcasting try and grapple with something like TP:TR, since it so cut against the grain of tr...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

For those who are truly, profoundly disappointed, I highly recommend the last edition of The Twin Peaks Podcast. Not for those who loved it with reservations, but personally I found it hilarious: https://itunes.apple.com/ie/podcast/the-twin-peaks-podcast/id432749455?mt=2&i=1000392072773 It's pr...

Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)

Mark my words. Cooper is gonna give up his spot in the real world to Laura Palmer and he'll go back to the lodge forever.
Spoiler:
Where maybe he'll turn into a teapot.

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

I think it's also bizarre that detractors of THE RETURN are criticized for being nostalgic for favoring the original series. While the diehard supporters of THE RETURN keep saying that Lynch is returning to the styles and motifs of ERASERHEAD and his short films, which they love!!! How's that not b...

Re: Twin Peaks Return: The Profoundly Disappointed Support Group (SPOILERS)

Just suggestions: pilot and finale for this season, w/ maybe something like ep. 7 or 11 thrown in. I just think it would be interesting to see a live commentary of your prospective of the show, with some counterpoints from your usual group of guests. It's the sort of thing I don't think we'd get an...
