Re: Twin Peaks Blu-Ray Sync issues (spoiler free tech thread)
I watched the Missing Pieces, and definitely noticed the sound issue during the lumber mill scene. I knew to watch for it there in particular, but it was obvious enough that I would've noticed it anyway. This is on the newer nine-disc version (which costs less but omits the final disc of special fea...

Re: Twin Peaks Poll - First Time
Wow. Looks like I'm the only one so far who started with the FWWM theatrical release. A friend and I went to the midnight movie at the local art-house theater almost every weekend that summer, and we would usually either go to White Castle or drive around back roads afterwards and discuss the movie....

Re: Twin Peaks Blu-Ray Sync issues (spoiler free tech thread)
I've read elsewhere (http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=219694&page=186) that even the new nine-disc re-release has the exact same pressings, so it looks very much like CBS has no intention of doing anything about the issue. My guess is that they probably decided it's a hardware problem a...

Re: Twin Peaks Blu-Ray Sync issues (spoiler free tech thread
If any Twin Peaks DVDs were converted from 4:3 to 16:9 (which I find hard to imagine!) I have to assume they would be cropped rather than expanded, so you'd actually be losing picture. Reasons being a) a DVD producer that is willing to alter the aspect ratio in the first place probably isn't the ty...

Criterion Collection (Rumored Blu-Ray Release)
There's speculation going around that the Criterion Collection is coming out with a Blu-Ray edition of Mulholland Drive: http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=11468 I wish Criterion would confirm or deny this rumor -- I had been about to pick up a copy on DVD, but that'd seem like a waste of money if it's...

Good time to buy Blue Velvet blu-ray
I thought folks might be interested to know that amazon.com currently (Oct. 10, 2012) has the blu-ray of Blue Velvet on sale for $8.99. camelcamelcamel.com says it's the best price they've seen on it.

Re: FWWM on Blu-Ray To Be Released (Australia) in Feb!!
It does seem like there would be a better chance of getting the deleted scenes in a Blu-Ray release if the movie isn't already available on Blu-Ray. But then, the studios never seem to tire of releasing new Even-More-Special-Than-The-Last-Special-Edition discs of other movies. Personally, I won't bu...

Currently reading Galactic Patrol, by E. E. "Doc" Smith. Part of the Lensman series. You know you're reading old sci-fi when the starship's engineer whips out his ever-present slide rule to solve equations....

Re: See You In 25 Years
I guess another actor could portray BOB, just as Moria Kelly portrayed Donna in Fire Walk With Me. Philip Gerard and Mike look alike (i.e., the inhabiting spirit is a duplicate of the vessel); if this can be taken to mean that the spirit can assume the form of a favorite host, then BOB could be pla...

Re: What are some good TV shows to watch?
If you're just looking for general recommendations from others who like TP, my other favorites are Firefly, Wonderfalls, Due South, Farscape, Strange Luck, and Babylon 5.
Strange Luck, as far as I know, can only be found via torrents; the rest are out on DVD.
