Sheryl Lee Reveals an Unscripted Deleted Scene from FWWM at the Twin Peaks Festival

Tweets have been coming in this weekend for those that are attending this years Twin Peaks Festival. At tonight’s Festival Dinner, @jlist  just posted a quick transcript of one of the questions:

Sheryl Lee: #twinpeaks “There was only one thing I had to tell @david_lynch ‘no way.’ it was one of the bedroom scenes with Leland, then with Bob, then I saw these two crew guys carrying in the head of a pig, and I had to do it again with the pig. And I told him no, no I’m not. And he looked at me and said, really? Why?”

I can confirm that this scene was actually filmed. Although Sheryl Lee would not share the scene with the pig head, David Lynch and Ron Garcia figured out a way to film the scene by putting the pig head on a C stand and hanging it over Laura’s bed while Sheryl Lee was taking a break from shooting. Originally it had been planned to be a cutaway shot to morph between Leland and BOB but alas was left on the cutting room floor.

The story reminds me of the other instance in Lynch’s Ronnie Rocket screenplay in which a dead pig comes to back to life and utters the words “Life is a donut.” Also the fact that they used a C stand reminds me of the photo that Grace Zabriskie took of David standing behind C Stands.

Makes me really wish they would get on with releasing those Deleted Scenes. Also, if you’re a supporter of the release of the FWWM Deleted Scenes like me, check out the Official Twin Peaks FWWM Deleted Scenes Petition Page. Rumor has it that the powers that be are watching that page, so the more people that “Like” that page, the better.
