Twin Peaks Pilot Screening at the Seattle Art Museum August 6th

In conjunction with this years Twin Peaks Festival and to in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Twin Peaks, on August 6th, those in the Seattle area will have the rare privilege of being able to see the Twin Peaks Pilot screened from a one of a kind  35mm film print on August 6th, 2010 at the Seattle Art Museum. Tickets to this rare event will be given to those attending the Twin Peaks Festival with the remaining tickets made available to the general public. Sale dates will be posted here as soon.

Of special note, this rare print come from the personal archives of David Lynch and is currently being stored at the Motion Picture Academy. The Academy’s policy is to not loan films that don’t have a back-up print. For this screening, Lynch intervened to allow for this presentation of his one and only 35mm Twin Peaks Pilot at this year’s Festival.

I had the privilege of seeing this print almost 10 years ago and seeing it on the big screen in 35mm is just stunning. It’s like seeing the Pilot for the first time. Any Twin Peaks fan in the general area (or even several hours driving distance) would be a fool to miss this opportunity. Even better, couple it with the Twin Peaks Festival for a truly awesome weekend.
